There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The effects of the number of drugs included in antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens of inflammatory markers remains undefined. We will evaluated in participants in the Spanish AIDS Research Network, whether triple ART, dual ART or monotherapy affect differentially the dynamics of inflammatory markers.
Lack of keratinised mucosa around dental implants and teeth is associated with plaque accumulation and worse tissue conditions. However, there is lack of data on the influence of the presence/lack of keratinised mucosa on the periodontal condition. Hence, soft tissue conditioning by grafting with a gingival graft is aimed at improving the quality of the peri-implant conditions
The prevalence and consequences of musculoskeletal pain is considerable among healthcare workers, allegedly due to high physical work demands of healthcare work. Performing physical exercise at the workplace together with colleagues may be more motivating for some employees and thus increase adherence. On the other hand, physical exercise performed during working hours at the workplace may be costly for the employers in terms of time spend. Thus, it seems relevant to perform a brief intervention. This study is intended to investigate the difference between the effect of workplace-based physical exercise (using elastic bands and body weight exercises) and a group control on musculoskeletal pain, physical exertion during work, physical function, need for recovery, self-rated use of analgesics, and work ability among healthcare workers.
Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of APL-2 in Patients with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria
The main purpose of this study was to assess the antitumor activity of three combinations: i) LAG525 + spartalizumab; ii) LAG525 + spartalizumab + carboplatin, and iii) LAG525 + carboplatin in participants with advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) in first or second line therapy.
This study will evaluate the clinical performance of a phakic intraocular lens (IOL) for the improvement of Uncorrected Near Visual Acuity (UCNVA) in subjects who require between +1.00 and +2.50 Reading Add.
Today it is well established that middle molecules comprise several compounds that are not effectively removed by high-flux dialyzers, and effective clearance of large middle molecules in the process of dialysis depends on the dialyzer membrane having large enough pore sizes, larger than the conventional high-flux dialyzers. Studies have found associations between levels of large middle molecule uremic toxins and immune dysfunction and inflammation, as well as adverse outcomes. This indicates that dialysis membranes having larger pores, enabling an expanded HD (HDx) with more effective removal of large middle molecules, can have a positive impact on the inflammatory state. While data is starting to appear on the long-term use of the HDx therapy, little is still known on how large middle molecules and inflammation markers are affected over time.
This study is conducted to evaluate the safety of intravitreal THR-317 administered in combination with ranibizumab, and to assess the efficacy of the combination treatment in improving best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and reducing central subfield thickness (CST), in subjects with central-involved diabetic macular oedema (CI-DME).
Endometrial cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the female genital tract in our means. The diagnosis is made by endometrial biopsy sampling with anatomopathological analysis which pinpoints the cell line and the level of cell differentiation. Its treatment is surgical with adjuvant treatment (chemotherapy or radiotherapy) besides, depending on the staging. Thus far, in the first diagnosis it is only request the tumor marker CA125 in serum, but there are studies that identify the HE4 protein in blood as a feasible marker for endometrial cancer. Furthermore, the staging changes the surgical and the adjuvant treatment: in its early stages, surgery is based on hysterectomy and double adnexectomy, however, in later stages it is necessary to add pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy with the associated comorbidity. This makes extremely important that the preoperative diagnosis is accurate. The aim of this study is to identify and characterize the HE4, Ki67, p53 and other potential biomarkers in endometrial tissue in order to diagnose patients with disease only with a biopsy. Moreover, the investigators are searching for connections among these markers and prognostic factors such as grade of cell differentiation, cell line, lymphatic affectation, tumor stage or even features as survival or disease free survival.
This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of adjuvant atezolizumab in combination with paclitaxel, followed by atezolizumab, dose-dense doxorubicin or epirubicin (investigator's choice), and cyclophosphamide, compared with paclitaxel followed by dose-dense doxorubicin or epirubicin (investigator's choice) and cyclophosphamide alone in patients with Stage II-III TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer)
