Colorectal cancer (CRC) once predominantly affected older individuals, but in recent years has witnessed a progressive increase in incidence among young adults. Once rare, early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC, that is, a CRC diagnosed before the age of 50) now constitutes 10-15% of all newly diagnosed CRC cases and it stands as the first cause of cancer-related death in young men and the second for young women. This study aims to detect EOCRC with a non-invasive test, using a blood-based molecular assay based on microRNA (ribonucleic acid)
The goal of this observational study is to validate an AI algorithm's capability to differentiate the population with suicidal ideation from a control population using various multimodal variables, including voice analysis, facial emotions, natural language, and proteomics data. The primary research question it aims to answer is: Is it possible to identify suicidal ideation and suicide risk in adolescents early and non-intrusively using multimodal data analysis through digital instruments equipped with artificial intelligence? Participants in this study will be asked to: Complete psychometric instruments to establish a gold standard for detecting suicide risk and suicidal ideation. Provide voice recordings, facial emotion data, and linguistic content in natural and specific contexts. Participate in salivary proteomics data collection. This study compares three distinct groups: Ideation: Adolescent patients with current suicidal ideation. Clinical Population: Psychological or psychiatric patients of the same age and gender without suicidal ideation. General Population: Adolescents without known psychological or psychiatric pathology of the same age and gender, without suicidal ideation. Researchers will compare these groups to determine if the AI algorithm is effective in differentiating individuals with suicidal ideation (Group 1) from both a clinical control group (Group 2) and a general population control group (Group 3) using the collected multimodal data. The study aims to assess the algorithm's ability to identify early signs of suicide risk in these distinct participant populations.
Sleep is an important modulator of the immune response, whereby sleep disturbances (ie, poor sleep quality, insufficient sleep and/or primary sleep disorder, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)) contribute to inflammatory disease risk and dysregulation of immune response in front of infectious agents. The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of undiagnosed and non-treated sleep disorders on innate immunity in a cohort of COVID-19 patients and the role of trained immunity induced by influenza vaccination in the innate immune response.
This study compares insulin icodec, a new insulin taken once a week, to insulin glargine, an insulin taken once a day. The study medicine will be investigated in participants with type 2 diabetes. Participants will either get insulin icodec or insulin glargine. Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Insulin icodec is the new medicine being tested, while insulin glargine is already approved and can be prescribed by doctors. Participants will get one injection of insulin icodec once a week, or one injection of insulin glargine once a day, depending on the treatment group participants are assigned into. Participants will use a pen with a small needle to inject the medicine under participants skin into participants thigh, upper arm or stomach.The study will last for about 9 months, but participants will only be taking the study medicine for 6 months.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test impact of a multiprofessional intervention in mothers and partners who suffer a pregnancy loss. The main questions it aims to answer are: - impact on mothers and partners mental heatlht status - reasons why mothers do not consent to the intervention Participants will: - mothers and partners will complete 4 scales - mothers and partners will participate in a interview Researchers will compare with mothers with standard care to see if the multiprofessional intervention has an impact.
The intervention involved two groups participating in supervised Pilates sessions, twice a week for 8 weeks, featuring a mix of mat and props-based exercises. Group 1 received additional cueing training to enhance alignment, muscle engagement, and movement technique, while Group 2 underwent the same Pilates regimen without this cueing component.
The goal of this pilot clinical trial is to evaluate whether the ultrasound-guided percutaneous peripheral nerve stimulation through a needle results in greater gains in strength and power compared to the administration of current through surface electrodes in patients undergoing strength and power assessments. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does percutaneous stimulation of the superior and inferior gluteal nerves using ultrasound-guided needles enhance strength and power more effectively than transcutaneous stimulation through electrodes? Is the effectiveness of current delivery significantly different between percutaneous and transcutaneous methods when assessed with a linear encoder in a standarized hip extension exercise? Participants will: Be randomized into two groups: one undergoing ultrasound-guided percutaneous stimulation of the gluteal nerves (experimental group) and the other undergoing transcutaneous stimulation through electrodes (control group). The same stimulation protocol at 10 Hz frequency with the maximum muscle contraction evoked without pain will be performed in both groups. Then, the participants will undergo strength and power assessment before and after therapy administration using a linear encoder in a hip extension exercise. Researchers will compare the experimental group to the control group to see if the method of current delivery (percutaneous vs. transcutaneous) has a significant impact on the gains in strength and power. This comparison is based on the hypothesis that percutaneous delivery of current, guided by ultrasound, is more effective than simply positioning a surface electrode for transcutaneous stimulation. The evaluation of strength and power will be performed through a linear encoder that measures peak strength and concentric power in each repetition, conducted by a blind operator unaware of the patients' group allocations.

Which are associated with a higher prevalence of premature mortality and chronic comorbidities. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a physical activity program, which pretends to increase the number of vigorous-intensity physical activity bouts in their daily life, as a habit, combining High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Vigorous Intensity Life-Style Physical Activity (VILPA). Secondary aims are to evaluate the efficacy of the program on fitness, physical activity and sedentary behavior level and patron; depressive, mania and psychotic symptomatology, functionality and cognitive functioning; quality of life and mood.
