Ultrasounds Evaluation of Asymptomatic Perimandibular Muscles Treated With Dry Needling

The articular disc of temporomandibular joint and three muscles of the cervico-facial region (temporal, masseter, sternocleidomastoid) are evaluated by means of sonographic images to observe and measure their dimensions' changes after a dry needling intervention. The participants are asymptomatic subjects and will be randomly divided in 2 groups: half of them are treated on the right side of the face, while the other half on the left side. Our hypothesis is that ultrasonography can reveal changes in the structures measured on the treated side.

This is a phase I/II clinical trial using adoptive cell therapy with NK cells or memory T cells in patients affected by COVID-19. Severe cases with COVID-19 present a dysregulated immune system with T cell lymphopenia, specially NK cells and memory T cells, and a hyper-inflammatory state. This clinical trial proposes the use of cell therapy for the treatment of patients with worse prognosis due to SARS-CoV-2 infection (those with pneumonia and/or lymphopenia). This is an innovative and a non-pharmacological intervention.

Chronic pain of moderate to severe intensity occurs in 19% of adult Europeans. Non-specific low-back pain is one of the most prevalent symptoms and the main cause of disability in industrialized countries, generating significant public health expenditure on health and occupational care. The combination of pain neurophysiology education and therapeutic exercise has shown positive effects in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain. Mobile health tools (mHealth) are proposed as a cost-effective alternative to continuously record the daily activities of patients and to provide rapid feedback to users and clinicians, reducing visits to clinics. A 4-week (8-session) education and exercise-based intervention will be carried out in a group of patients with non-specific chronic low back pain using two modalities: (1) face-to-face guided by a health professional or (2) self-managed through BackFit App. The sample will be divided into two groups and will be evaluated before (pre), after (post) and 3 months (follow-up) after the intervention.

Methodology: Analytical cross-sectional observational study, with a quantitative focus on healthcare workers who are working on-site during the pandemic in the services of healthcare institutions that agree to participate in the countries where the study will be conducted, by applying a survey of patient safety perceptions in healthcare workers in times of pandemic. Analysis of the data will employ descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to meet the objectives of the study using IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows version 25.0 software. Expected results: The study seeks to generate evidence for the perception of patient safety in times of pandemic, for which it will generate the submission of an article with the results obtained to an indexed journal and presentation at a scientific event.

Lateral epicondylalgia is a common musculoskeletal condition that approximately affects 1-3% of the general population. Several authors have found greater mechanical pain sensitivity in the radial nerve when compared with healthy subjects. Radial tunnel syndrome exhibits a similar clinical presentation to lateral epicondylalgia. Percutaneous electrical stimulation has shown reduce pain in several conditions. Percutaneous electrical stimulation on the radial nerve could cause an important relief in lateral epicondylalgia. Hypothesis: Percutaneous electrical stimulation on radial nerve plus in patients with lateral epicondylalgia is better than sham percutaneous electrical stimulation
