The main purpose of this study is to learn more about the safety, side effects, and effectiveness of LOXO-435. LOXO-435 may be used to treat cancer of the cells that line the urinary system and other solid tumor cancers that have a change in a particular gene (known as the FGFR3 gene). Participation could last up to 30 months (2.5 years) and possibly longer if the disease does not get worse.
The GATEKEEPER project, funded by the European Commission's HORIZON 2020 innovation framework, aims to ensure healthier independent living for ageing populations. To this end, GATEKEEPER aims to develop an open, European-wide, standards-based, interoperable and secure platform, available to all stakeholders (healthcare professionals, technology companies and users), offering digital solutions on the Internet of Things, Big Data or Artificial Intelligence, or new techniques, for early detection and personalised interventions to ensure healthier independent living for ageing populations. GATEKEEPER will demonstrate its value by scaling up innovative solutions, during a 48-month work plan that will involve 40.000 elderly citizens, as well as authorities, institutions, companies, associations and academic centres from 8 pilot regions in 7 EU Member States. The pilots sites will deploy and demonstrate the effect, benefit, value and scalability of GATEKEEPER solutions around reference use cases covering primary, secondary and terciary prevention in the Basque Country (Spain), Aragon (Spain), Attica and Central Greece (Greece), Cyprus (Cyprus), Lodz (Poland), Milton Keynes (UK), Puglia (Italy) and Saxony (Germany). The Basque Country pilot site is involved in the Reference Use Cases focused to "Lifestyle-related early detection". The intervention aims to encourage active and healthy ageing by the use of a self-managed mobile application, thereby to enhance independence, autonomy and improve the well-being of older people, promoting their physical, cognitive and mental activity and social participation. This quasi-experimental and longitudinal study is target to 10,000 older people and/or their caregivers from the Basque Country region. A multi-channel and community-based recruitment strategy at Basque regional level has been designed that involves 39 community-based organizations from the Basque Health Ecosystem.
Researchers are looking for a better way to treat people who have advanced solid tumors. Advanced solid tumors are types of cancer that may have spread to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, and/or to distant parts of the body and that are unlikely to be cured or controlled with currently available treatments. This study focuses on certain types of skin cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer, and lung cancer. The study treatment BAY2965501 is currently under development as monotherapy or in combination with a drug named pembrolizumab for the treatment of people with advanced solid tumors. BAY2965501 blocks an enzyme in T-cells to activate them. T-cells are a type of immune cell that are known to have an anti-cancer effect and BAY2965501 is a potential new immunotherapy. The main purpose of this first-in-human study is to learn: - how safe different doses of BAY2965501 are when given as a single drug or in combination, - the degree to which medical problems caused by BAY2965501 when given as a single drug or in combination, can be tolerated (also called tolerability), - what maximum amount can be given as a single drug or in combination, and - how it moves into, through and out of the body as a single drug or in combination. To answer this, researchers will look at: - the number and severity of medical problems participants have after taking BAY2965501 as a single drug or in combination for each dose level. These medical problems are also referred to as adverse events. - the (average) total level of BAY2965501 in the blood (also called AUC) after intake of single and multiple doses - the (average) highest level of BAY2965501 in the blood (also called Cmax) after intake of single and multiple doses Doctors keep track of all medical problems that participants have during the study, even if they do not think the medical problem might be related to the study treatment. In addition, the researchers want to know if and how the participants' tumors change after taking BAY2965501. The study will have two parts. The first part, called dose escalation, is done to find the most appropriate dose that can be given in the second part. For this, participants will be assigned to receive one of the planned doses and schedules of BAY2965501 as single drug or participants will be assigned to one of the increasing doses of BAY2965501 in combination with 200mg pembrolizumab. All participants will take BAY2965501 by mouth. Additionally, in the combination group, pembrozilumab will be given. In the second part, called dose expansion, all participants in the single drug group will receive up to 2 of the most appropriate doses of BAY2965501 from the 1st part as tablet by mouth. The participants in the combination group will receive the most appropriate dose of BAY2965501 from the first part. Participants in both parts of the study, will take the study treatment until the tumor gets worse (also known as 'disease progression'), or until the participants have medical problems. In general, the study treatment is planned for a maximum of 35 cycles. Each participant will be in the study for several months, including a screening phase of up to 28 days, few months of treatment depending on the participant's benefit, and a follow up phase after the end of treatment. The following approximate numbers of visits to the study site are planned: two during the screening phase, six in the first treatment month, one to three per month in the following periods. Participants in part two will be assigned to one of 3 groups depending on cancer characteristics. Study procedures described below may vary between these groups. During the study, the study team will: - take blood and urine samples - do physical examinations - check vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature - examine heart health using ECG (electrocardiogram) - check if the participants' cancer has grown and/or spread using CT (computed tomography) or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and, if needed, bone scan - take tumor samples (if required) The treatment period ends with a visit no later than 7 days after the last BAY2965501 dose in the single drug and combination group. About 30 and 90 days after the last dose and every 12 weeks thereafter, the study team will check the participants' health and any changes in cancer. This follow-up period ends with worsening of the cancer, start of new anti-cancer therapy, or until the participant leaves the study. In addition, the study doctors and their team will contact the participant every 12 weeks to learn about the participant's survival. This ends no later than 12 months after the last participant started treatment or by the end of the study, whichever comes first.

The aim of this study is to assess the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the Resistell Phenotech device in testing antibiotic susceptibility of Gram-negative bacteria (i.e., E. coli or K. pneumoniae) to clinically relevant antibiotics. The study is designed as a prospective, non-interventional, multi-center, single-arm study. The blood culture samples from bacteremia patients that are positive for E. coli or K. pneumoniae will be tested with the Resistell Phenotech device after strain identification by MALDI-TOF. The results of the Resistell AST will be compared with the results from the disk diffusion tests (all sites use the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion test), and site dependent tests (VITEK® 2, BD Phoenix™, MicroScan WalkAway system, and/or EUCAST RAST), which are currently the standard AST methods in the microbiology laboratories at the participating sites.
The purpose of the study is to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of farletuzumab ecteribulin (MORAb-202) and compare it to Investigator's choice (IC) chemotherapy in female participants with platinum-resistant HGS ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer.
This study has been designed to demonstrate that red blood cell from umbilical cord blood (UCB-RBC) is a safe and available product for extremely preterm infants (EPI) transfusion and that transfusion of UCB-RBC is non-less effective than RBC from adult donor for the treatment of anemia of prematurity in this group of patients.
Consequences of stroke are manyfold but all of them are important factors on the long-term outcomes of rehabilitation, becoming an important health problem with requires health strategies with advanced age. High intensity interval training (HIIT) is an efficient training protocol used in cardiac rehabilitation programs, but owing to the inter-individual variability in physiological responses to training associated to cardiovascular diseases, the exercise dose received by each patient should be closely controlled and individualized to ensure the safety and efficiency of the exercise program. The heart rate variability (HRV) is actually being used for this purpose, as it is closely linked to de parasympathetic nervous system activation. In this way, higher scores in HRV are associated with a good cardiovascular adaptation. The objective of this protocol is to determine the effect of HIIT compared with HRV-guided training on cardiorespiratory fitness, heart rate variability, functional parameters, body composition, quality of life, inflammatory markers, cognitive function, and feasibility, safety and adherence in patients after stroke undertaking an 8-week cardiac rehabilitation program. This will be a cluster-randomized controlled protocol in which patients after stroke will be assigned to an HRV-based training group (HRV-G) or a HIIT-based training group (HIIT-G). HIIT-G will train according to a predefined training program. HRV-G training will depend on the patients' daily HRV. The peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak), endothelial and work parameters, the heart rate variability, the functional parameters, the relative weight and body fat distribution, the quality of life, the inflammatory markers, the cognitive function, and the exercise adherence, feasibility and safety will be considered as the outcomes. It is expected that this HRV-guided training protocol will improve functional performance in the patients after stroke, being more safe, feasible and generating more adherence than HIIT, providing a better strategy to optimize the cardiac rehabilitation interventions.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of once daily oral inhalation dose of MK-5475 380 µg in participants 40 to 85 years (inclusive) with Pulmonary Hypertension associated with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (PH-COPD). The primary hypothesis of the study is MK-5475, a soluble Guanylate Cyclase (sGC) stimulator is superior to placebo in increasing 6 Minute Walking Distance (6MWD) from baseline at Week 24.
