NCT ID: NCT05907265 Recruiting - Cancer Clinical Trials

Immersive Virtual Reality Techniques on the Effects on Cognition in People With Cancer

OncoBRAIN
Start date: May 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

OncoBRAIN aims to assess the effect of an innovative immersive virtual reality-based (IVR) intervention that includes cognitive, physical activity and mindfulness exercises in people diagnosed with cancer and Chemotherapy-Related Cognitive Deficits (CRCD). The main objective of OncoBRAIN is to determine the benefits of RVI intervention on the cognitive, and emotional state and quality of life of people with cancer and CRQD. We hypothesize that in OncoBRAIN we will find improvements in people with cancer and CRCD who have received IVR stimulation compared to the control group with cancer and CRCD who have not received IVR stimulation. People in the experimental group will perform better than patients in the control group in cognition (episodic memory, executive function, attention, and information processing speed), show better emotional well-being and perceive a better quality of life at the end of the intervention.

NCT ID: NCT05906771 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Diseases

Study of the Effect of the Combined Extract of Lemon Verbena and Hibiscus on Health Indicators

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Plant polyphenols have demonstrated the ability to ameliorate metabolic alterations induced by overweight and obesity, both in cellular and animal models, where most therapeutic approaches have failed. These have demonstrated the ability to improve appetite sensation, leading to improved body weight control, in addition to reducing fat accumulation and improving plasma glycemic and lipid profiles, as well as inflammatory process and vascular dysfunction. The plant polyphenols on which the extract to be studied will be based will be hibiscus and lemon verbena. A randomized controlled trial will be carried out in overweight or obese subjects from the province of Alicante. An electronic randomization will be carried out based on a two-branch design, therefore, there will be a control group (no intervention) and an experimental group (nutraceutical intake). Participants will have to ingest the nutraceutical for 3 months, as well as attend the agreed visits. Different satiety questionnaires, circulating parameters measured in capillaries (cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose), blood pressure and body composition measured by bone densitometry (DXA) will be collected. All variables will be measured at 4 different time points (baseline, 30 days, 60 days and 90 days). All these will be analyzed as a function of time; at the beginning and end of each intervention (intra-group analysis), as well as comparing the control group with the experimental group (inter-group analysis). A multidisciplinary team formed by physicians, nurses and nutritionists will be involved.

NCT ID: NCT05905783 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Hidradenitis Suppurativa Study of Izokibep

Start date: June 22, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Izokibep is a small protein molecule that acts as a selective, potent inhibitor of interleukin 17A, to which it binds with high affinity. This study investigates izokibep in subjects with active Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), including tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitor (TNFi) naïve subjects, and those who had an inadequate response or intolerance to TNFi, or for whom TNFi is contraindicated.

NCT ID: NCT05905159 Completed - Fibromyalgia Clinical Trials

Attentional Bias Modification in Fibromyalgia Patients (ABM)

ABM
Start date: January 12, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

There is a growing interest in the potential benefits of attentional bias modification (ABM) training in chronic pain patients. However, studies examining the effectiveness of ABM programs in fibromyalgia patients have demonstrated inconclusive effects on both behavioral indices and clinical symptoms. Underlying neural dynamics of ABM effects could yield additional insights but remain yet unexplored. Current study, therefore, aimed investigating the effects of ABM training on known neural indicators of attentional bias to pain using electroencephalography (EEG). The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effects of ABM training on known neural indicators of attentional bias to pain using electroencephalography (EEG) in fibromyalgia patients The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Are fibromyalgia patients sensitive to ABM procedures? - What are the neural indices associated with ABM procedures? - Do ABM procedures transfer of effects on the clinical symptomatology in fibromyalgia patients? Participants will performes five sessions consisting of a modified dot-probe task in which patients were trained to avoid facial pain expressions, whereas in the control group participants will performes five sessions consisting of a standard dot-probe task. Potential ABM training effects will be evaluated by comparing a single pre- and post-treatment session, in which event-related potentials (ERPs) will be recorded in response to three experimental tasks (standard dot-probe, RIR, and visual tasks). Furthermore, patients will fill a series of self-report questionnaires assessing anxiety, depression, pain-related worrying, fear of pain, fatigue and pain status. Researchers will compare two fibromyalgia patients groups that will enrolled and randomly assigned to an ABM training in order to see attentional improvements in the training fibromyalgia group.

NCT ID: NCT05905003 Recruiting - Psychosis Clinical Trials

AMP SCZ® Observational Study: PREDICT-DPACC

AMP SCZ
Start date: June 2, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The Accelerating Medicines Partnership® Schizophrenia (AMP® SCZ) is a large international collaboration to develop algorithms using a set of clinical and cognitive assessments, multi-modal biomarkers, and clinical endpoints that can be used to predict the trajectories and outcomes of individuals at clinical high risk (CHR) for psychosis and to advance the testing of pharmacological interventions for CHR individuals in need. The goal is to accurately predict which individuals are likely to remit, experience an acute psychotic episode, or have intermediate outcomes that feature persistent attenuated psychotic and/or mood symptoms along with functional impairment. The prediction algorithms will have the potential to serve as early indicators of treatment efficacy in CHR persons. The AMP SCZ research program is made up of the Psychosis Risk Evaluation, Data Integration, and Computational Technologies - Data Processing, Analysis and Coordination Center (PREDICT-DPACC) and two clinical research networks, the Psychosis-Risk Outcomes Network (ProNET) and the Trajectories and Predictors in the Clinical High Risk for Psychosis Population: Prediction Scientific Global Consortium (PRESCIENT) networks. The two clinical research networks will recruit a large cohort of CHR young people aged 12-30 years (n=1,977) and healthy control (HC) participants (n=640) across 42 participating investigative sites from 13 countries. CHR participants will complete screening, baseline assessments and a battery of follow-up assessments across 18 - 24 months. HC participants will complete screening and baseline assessments and a subset (5 per site) will complete month 2, 12 and 24 visits.
