There are about 21071 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Spain. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study is open to adults with diabetic kidney disease. The purpose of the study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 685509 improves kidney function. Three different doses of BI 685509 are tested in this study. Participants get either one of the three doses of BI 685509 or placebo. It is decided by chance who gets which BI 685509 dose and who gets placebo. Participants take BI 685509 or placebo as tablets 3 times a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 685509 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants continue taking their usual medicine for diabetes and kidney disease throughout the study. Participants are in the study for about 7 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 11 times. Where possible, about 6 of the 11 visits can be done at the participant's home instead of the study site. The trial staff may also contact the participants by phone or video call. Kidney function is assessed based on the analysis of urine samples, which participants collect at home. At the end of the trial the results are compared between the different doses of BI 685509 and placebo. During the study, the doctors also regularly check the general health of the participants.
The purpose of this study will be to assess the effects of an 8-week hypo-pressive abdominal exercise program on Inspiratory muscle strength, diaphragm thickness, pressure pain threshold and disability in patients with non-specific chronic low back pain. A randomized clinical trial will be carried out. A total sample of 40 patients with non-specific chronic low back pain will be recruited and divided into 2 groups including an experimental group (n=20) which will receive an 8-week hypo-pressive abdominal exercise program and a control group (n=20) which will not receive any training program. Inspiratory muscle strength, diaphragm thickness, pressure pain threshold and disability will be assessed.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential effect of Avena Sativa L. on wellbeing during smoking reduction/cessation
A spirometry study is performed in a patient diagnosed with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis. An initial measurement is carried out and the patient is then put on a four-week physiotherapy treatment plan. Four spirometry measurements were taken to assess different variables and an improvement in all the spirometry values was established.
Stroke is the second single most common cause of death and the main cause of disability in the European Union (EU) region. Stroke victims face an uncertain future and a life severely affected by disability. Although there have been many advances in scientific knowledge and innovation in stroke research, improvements in stroke systems of care are still necessary to ensure patient outcomes and improve their quality of life after stroke. The main goal of PROICTUS program ("pro" in Greek means before and in Latin means forward movement) is to evaluate a nursing support intervention to improve PROMS (patient reported outcome measures) and the quality of life in stroke survivors. Patients will have a directly contact with the lead nurse by telephone, so they will receive information about their disease, their current situation given them a personalized care and resolving questions that are important for them in their new life situation
Pilot clinical trial, with a marketed drug -natural component of human plasma-, not approved for this indication, single-center, exploratory, open, randomized, controlled, to study the efficacy and safety of human Antithrombin in patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease and criteria high risk to develop SARS.
This study will be conducted to evaluate the efficacy of GWP42003-P, compared with placebo, in reducing symptom severity in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Retrospective study that analyzes the changes in serum creatinine as a tool to correctly classify the volemic status volemic status (euvolemia vs hypovolemia) of the patients with hyponatremia.
hCG is a hormone produced very early by the embryo, but not by the oocyte. It has a pivotal role in the trophoblast differentiation, and embryo implantation as well as the corpus luteum support. In spite of its well-known role, the literature about it is scarce. The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate the relationship between the hCG concentration in peripheral maternal blood measured 11 days after embryo transfer, embryo morphokinetics pattern and the abortion and ongoing pregnancy rates. We will study patients having transference of blastocyst cultured in time lapse monitored incubators and will check all the morphokinetics parameters with the IVI database.
Commercially available fruit juices are obtained after applying industrial technologies to preserve and extend the shelf-life by inactivation of microorganism and enzymes. These are traditional thermal treatment (eg. pasteurization, sterilization) that causes losses of nutritional and bioactive compounds, changes physicochemical properties (colour, flavor and texture) and can modify their bioavailabilities. Thus, the traditional thermal processing is being replaced by less intense thermal technologies (e.g. low-temperature pasteurization / refrigerated storage) and non-thermal treatments such as the high-pressure processing (HPP) and the pulsed electric fields (PEF) as an alternative to enhace food safety and shelf-life without compromising organoleptic qualities (retain the flavour, color healthiness of fresh foods) and keeping their health-promoting capacity. The beneficial health effect derived from the orange juice intake is partly related to the bioavailability of their bioactive compounds. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the intake of freshly squeezed orange juice (Citrus sinensis L.) and processed orange juice elaborated with different treatments (low pasteurization / refrigerated storage, high-pressure processing, pulsed electric fields) on the main serum carotenoid concentrations in a cross-over study in apparently healthy subjects using multiple dosis.
