NCT ID: NCT05977725 Active, not recruiting - Vascular Disease Clinical Trials

Hand Acceleration Time Assessment With Ultrasound Doppler

HAT
Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Chronic upper limb ischemia syndrome is uncommon compared to lower limb ischemia, with several potential causes (e.g., arteriosclerosis, compressive syndromes, arteritis, connective tissue diseases, trauma, and thrombosis). Many patients with upper limb ischemia remain asymptomatic due to arterial collateral vascularization. Given the wide variety of potential causes for upper limb ischemia, the diagnosis may require different technical approaches. Doppler ultrasound is a non-invasive, accessible, non-radiating technique that provides direct arterial imaging, yielding valuable information on arterial anatomy and hemodynamics. Some authors have described the reliability of the arterial duplex ultrasound for lower limb assessment using the pedal acceleration time (PAT). The PAT provides real-time hemodynamic physiological information on the entire limb. The acceleration time (AT) is an ultrasound parameter which measures the time elapsed (in milliseconds, ms) from the beginning of the arterial Doppler waveform until the systolic peak, evaluating the morphology of the arterial waveform in real time. In a healthy individual, this time should be short (between 40 - 100 milliseconds), displaying a triphasic waveform with a systolic acceleration, a sudden diastolic fall, and a subsequent anterograde flow at the end of diastole. A more damped wave suggests proximal stenosis and the acceleration time has been correlated to different degrees of foot ischemia. Notably, the AT parameter has also been studied in other territories, such as the carotid and pulmonary arteries, coronary arteries, and the aorta. Hand acceleration time (HAT) has also been described very recently as a potential tool to assess hemodialysis access-induced ischemia, cardiogenic shock, and subclavian iatrogenic ischemic lesion. However, the HAT has not yet been properly characterized or validated. Our working hypothesis is that the HAT is a useful diagnostic tool for chronic upper limb ischemia.

NCT ID: NCT05977582 Recruiting - Eating Disorders Clinical Trials

Online Prevention Program for Eating Disorders Applied to College Students. Spanish Validation of the eBodyProject

Start date: October 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to analyze and compare in female college women two prevention programs for eating disorders, the Spanish Version of the eBodyProject and a traditional/educational prevention program. The main question it aims to answer is: • The Spanish Version of the eBodyProject (intervention group) is more effective to prevent the onset of eating disorders with college students than a traditional psychological and educational prevention program (control group). Participants will have to complete two main phases: assessment (pre- prevention program) and conducting the eBodyProject or traditional prevention program. The duration of the program is 4 weeks. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare the Spanish eBodyProject Group with the traditional group to see and compare the effectiveness of each intervention arm.

Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to test the safety and dosing of [177Lu]Lu-FF58, a radioligand therapy for patients with advanced or metastatic tumors that express proteins known as integrins: alpha-v beta-3 integrin (αvβ3) and alpha-v beta-5 integrin (αvβ5). The study will also further characterize the radioligand imaging agent [68Ga]Ga-FF58 including its ability to identify tumor lesions and its safety profile.

NCT ID: NCT05976854 Recruiting - Low Back Pain Clinical Trials

Online Intervention Based on Pain Neuroscience Education for Women With Pregnancy-related Lumbopelvic Pain

Start date: August 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

60-70% of pregnant women suffer from pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain. In the general population, patient education is the first line of treatment. For pregnant women with LBP, the guidelines are the same as for the general population. In fact, prenatal education programs specifically collect recommendations and educational strategies for managing this pain. Within educational strategies, education in the neuroscience of pain has gained special relevance in recent years due to its positive results in reducing pain in patients with low back pain. Despite the beneficial effects shown in patients with low back pain, its use has not yet been explored, to our knowledge, in women with pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain.

Participants performed this test after the ingestion of a) placebo; b) 3 mg/kg of caffeine; c) 6 mg/kg of caffeine. Fat oxidation rate during exercise was measured by indirect calorimetry. The influence of the CYP1A2 c.-163A>C, GSTP c.313A>G and PGC1a polymorphisms was evaluated to determine the effects on fat oxidation during exercise

NCT ID: NCT05974826 Enrolling by invitation - Health Behavior Clinical Trials

Healthy Communities: A Healthy City Preventive Program on Cardiovascular Health and Well-being (HC)

HC
Start date: October 20, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Healthy Communities is a multidisciplinary health-promotion initiative. The objective of the present study is to determine whether such an intervention will be efficacious to improve cardiovascular health compared to the current approach. A quasi-experimental controlled longitudinal community-based intervention study will be carried out comprising approximately 2000 individuals from the age of 12 years from the cities of Cardona (intervention city) and Sallent (control city), in Spain. The core of the intervention will be based on the previous health promotion programs developed and evaluated by the Science, Health and Education (SHE) Foundation: the SI! Program (Salud Integral -Comprehensive Health) for children, and the Fifty-Fifty Program for adults. Coupled to infrastructure development, we will promote the understanding of the benefits of active living to increase awareness on the relevance of healthy lifestyle to improve health and wellbeing in three consecutive phases (Phase 1- full supervised program; Phase 2- transition period, and Phase 3- self-community driven program), which will provide full empowerment to the community. The primary outcome will be measured with the validated composite Fuster-BEWAT (Blood pressure, Exercise/physical activity, body Weight/BMI, Alimentation/diet, and Tobbaco/smoking) score consisting of a 0-15 scale for behaviors/health risk factors. Assessments will be performed at baseline, at 2.5 and 5 years. Follow-up assessments will be conducted to determine the between group differences (intervention vs. control) in the change of the Fuster-BEWAT score at phase 2 and phase 3.
