There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a phase II, multicentre, multinational, randomized, parallel group, placebo-controlled study of four vaccination regimens in healthy pregnant women. There will be 5 treatment groups; three groups of 60 participants will receive will receive two doses of GBS-NN/NN2 vaccine and one dose of placebo (saline); one group of 60 participants will receive one dose of GBS-NN/NN2 vaccine and two doses of placebo (saline), and one group of 60 participants will receive three doses of placebo (saline).
The Danish health care system has been criticized for its structural inefficiency and latency to initiate proper hearing rehabilitation amongst hearing-impaired individuals. Waiting lists are extensive, and audiometries are repeated before hearing aid treatment is initiated. Demographic changes forecast increasing numbers of +65-year-olds and consequently increased demand for hearing rehabilitation. To remedy this situation, the Danish Ministry of Health has proposed a new national initiative to implement innovative digital approaches to improve hearing rehabilitation, including a new, digital remote assessment routine. The aim of this study is to investigate: Primarily: 1. Patient safety of remote vs. conventional assessment 2. Patient-reported satisfaction and treatment effect of remote vs. conventional assessment Secondarily: 3. Inter-subspecialty and inter-personal assessment differences between four ENT specialists using a remote assessment routine 4. Translation and validation of the Danish adapted version of the Consumer Ear Disease Risk Assessment (CEDRA) questionnaire. The main study is a randomized clinical trial with three arms and 1:1:1 assignment comprising 751 potential first-time adult hearing aid users. Since March 2021, 751 patients have been randomized and assigned to 20 different clinics. The remote assessment routine works well for both patients, assessors, and clinics. Inclusion is expected to end in December 2021 and overall study completion is anticipated in april 2022. Deficient diagnosis of complicating conditions in first time hearing aid users is the main concern in remote assessment. If the study shows the practice to be safe, it could form the foundation of a future nationwide implementation of remote care in Danish hearing rehabilitation.
The study is investigating weight loss and treatment patterns associated with the use of Saxenda® in adult patients. The aim of the study is to assess the weight loss associated with Saxenda® in patients with obesity or overweight. Saxenda® was prescribed to participants by study doctor independently of this study. The study will last for about 4 months, where the data will be collected from the available medical records. There will be no additional activities expected from participants in the scope of study because it is a chart-review study.
This study is looking at semaglutide in combination with a potential new medicine (NNC0480-0389) in people with type 2 diabetes. The study is being conducted to see how well semaglutide, in combination with different doses of NNC0480-0389, work to lower blood sugar levels. Results from this study will be used to select the doses of the two medicines for other studies. Participants will either get: Semaglutide (a medicine doctors can already prescribe for treatment of type 2 diabetes) in combination with NNC0480-0389 (a potential new medicine) or placebo (a 'dummy' medicine that looks like the medicines but without any medicine). NNC0480-0389 alone, or semaglutide alone which treatment participant get is decided by chance. Participant will need to take 2-3 injections once every week during the study. One injection will be with semaglutide or placebo and 1-2 injections will be with NNC0480-0389 or placebo. Participant must inject the study medicines themself into the stomach, thigh, or upper arm. The study will last for about 41weeks. Participant will have 20 clinic visits. Participant will have blood samples taken at all clinic visits. At 3 clinic visits, participant will also have an electrocardiogram (ECG). This is a test to check participants heart. Participant will have their eyes checked before or at the start of the study and at the end of the study. Women can only take part in the study if they are not able to become pregnant
A recent randomized clinical trial (RCT) demonstrated large effects of hypnotic suggestion on working memory following acquired brain injury. However, no studies have investigated long-term effects (> 2 months) effects on return to work (RTW). Therefore the aim is in a RCT to study the effect of hypnotic suggestion on RTW in employed individuals with acquired brain injury or concussion, that were referred to an out-patient municipal vocational rehabilitation center in Denmark. Participants were randomized to a passive (treatment as usual), active comparison (a weekly treatment session of mindfullness-based stress reduction for four weeks) or intervention group (a weekly treatment session of targeted suggestion for four weeks). Intention-to-treat analysis of the hypnosis effect on return to work within six months follow-up will be performed. Results Participants (N=77) have accepted and participated in the study. Effect measures are to be analysed.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the outcomes of the preloaded stent-graft design (PLD) in the routine treatment of para-renal and thoraco-abdominal aneurysms. Results and postoperative events are reported in accordance with the current reporting standards for endovascular aortic repair prepared and revised by the Ad Hoc Committee for Standardized Reporting Practices in Vascular Surgery of The Society for Vascular Surgery/American Association for Vascular Surgery. The Registry will include approximately 300 patients treated from January 2015 to May 2021 (retrospective arm) and June 2021 to June 2023 (perspective arm) for the routine treatment of para-renal and thoraco-abdominal aneurysms. To reach 300 patients, the enrollments can be extended until June 2026.
Pain education has proven difficult to implement into clinical practice. In Denmark 4 out of 10 adults has inadequate health literacy levels. To avoid inequality in health care we need a new and accurate method to provide pain education to all who need it. In this study, existing concept of pain education is implemented into clinical practice for a group of chronic pain patients including those with low degrees of health literacy, and then evaluate its use from both patient and physiotherapist perspective.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of donidalorsen in participants with HAE and effect of donidalorsen on the quality and pattern of HAE attacks and their impact on quality of life (QoL).
Patients previously included in the DEX-2-TKA-trial (ethics committee ID SJ-695; ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03506789) at Næstved Hospital will be invited for a follow up study consisting of questionnaires and a visit with a physical therapist. The study includes the following validated questionnaires: EQ-5D-5L, Oxford Knee Score and PainDetect, and information on height, weight, daily pain-medication and co-morbidities. With the physical therapist, the patient will perform the following functional tests: knee range of motion, timed-up-to-go, 30 second chair stand test, 40m fast paced walk test, stair climb test and a measure of the thigh force.
The aim of this study is to examine the long-term outcomes after curatively intended resection of duodenal adenocarcinoma.
