There are about 11304 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Denmark. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The main goal of this study is to evaluate the effect of the proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitor evolocumab on cardiac allograft vasculopathy in de novo heart transplant recipients. Secondary objectives are to assess the impact of treatment on: i) cholesterol levels, ii) renal function, iii) inflammation, iv) quality of life, v) cardiac function as assessed by biomarkers and echocardiography, vi) the number of rejections, and (vii) safety and tolerability. As an exploratory outcome, the investigators will asses the effect of treatment on clinical events (death, myocardial infarction, cerebral stroke, cancer, end stage renal disease).
The aim of this study is to quantify and characterize the outcomes of radiofrequency (RF) ablation after, and the utility of electroanatomical mapping with the Advisor™ HD Grid Mapping Catheter, Sensor Enabled™ (hereafter called "HD Grid") and EnSite Precision™ Cardiac Mapping System (SV 2.2 or higher, hereafter called "EnSite Precision") with HD Wave Solution™ voltage mapping (hereafter called "HD Wave Solution") in subjects with persistent atrial fibrillation (PersAF) or ventricular tachycardia (VT) in real-world clinical settings.
The main purpose of the study is to assess whether repeated sessions of repetitive trancranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) applied on left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex main boost the pain thresholds.
This project is aimed to investigate the feasibility of employing communication and sensor technologies for the patient after a knee operation. In the study, it is hypothesized that the effectiveness of postoperative rehabilitation programs might be improved by establishing electronic communication between healthcare professionals and the patients. It is also believed that users satisfaction and patients quality of life will be improved. The telerehabilitation program promises a synchronized communication as well as an individualized training program (by health professionals) based on the patient's electronic reports.
Current standard prostate biopsy techniques, used to definitively diagnose prostate cancer (PC), utilises an ultrasound guided biopsy approach, that offers unsatisfactory specificity and sensitivity for clinical significant PC. This often leads to harmful unnecessary biopsies. To improve the overall detection of clinical significant PC, multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) has emerged as a new technique that might be useful in selecting the appropriate patient for biopsy. Nevertheless, mpMRI fail to detect cancer in some circumstances and the exact role of mpMRI is undetermined. Currently, the majority of PC is diagnosed either incidentally or by unsystematic screening with prostate specific antigen (PSA). PSA suffers from being an organ specific, but cancer unspecific serum biomarker. PSA testing may neither rule out or confirm the presence of prostate cancer. Newer biomarkers have shown promise in curbing some of this sensitivity and specificity gap, but still needs refinement. In the present study, the investigators will use mpMRI and a new set of urine and plasma biomarkers in combination, prior to performing standard biopsies in order to develop a prediction model for the biopsy outcome. If proven successful the model would offer excellent risk stratification and possibly mitigating the need for biopsies.
This study will begin a novel line of research on CCT in Denmark as a preventive intervention for caregivers of people suffering from a mental illness. The primary aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of a Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) course on psychological distress of informal caregivers.
This is a phase 3 double-blind randomized study to study the efficacy and safety of intravenous ATB200 Co-administered with oral AT2221 in adult subjects with Late Onset Pompe Disease compared with Alglucosidase Alfa/placebo.
Hypoparathyroidism (hypoPT) is characterized by low levels of PTH. In this study we will test the effects of a liquid meal on the bone remodeling in participants with hypoparathyroidism. Furthermore, we will test the effects of the gut hormones GIP and GLP-2.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential beneficial effects of a daily supplement of Resveratrol (1000mg/day) on physical ability and on muscle metabolism in patients with verified mitochondrial myopathy and patients with a verified fatty acid oxidation defect of VLCAD and CPTII deficiencies. Investigators hypothesize an improved muscle metabolism, mitochondrial function, fatty acid oxidation and thus improvement of physical ability.
Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a frequent and important complication to cardiac surgery. This study will evaluate the diagnostic ability of ultrasonographic measures of blood flow in kidneys and liver in predicting AKI after cardiac surgery.
