NCT ID: NCT04661631 Recruiting - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Surgery and Lung Ultrasound in COVID-19 Infection

SOUNDS
Start date: May 8, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The first case of COVID-19 was identified on December 19 and the world is actually experiencing a pandemic. The surgical procedure in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection involves the exposure of other patients and the group of health workers who face the care of the patient. Thus, screening with lung ultrasound is an alternative to identify patients with an established or suspected infection that requires urgent surgery. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determinate the operational characteristics of lung ultrasound during the screening process for SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with an indication for urgent surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04660344 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Muscle-invasive Bladder Cancer

A Study of Atezolizumab Versus Placebo as Adjuvant Therapy in Patients With High-Risk Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer Who Are ctDNA Positive Following Cystectomy

IMvigor011
Start date: May 3, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a global Phase III, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjuvant treatment with atezolizumab compared with placebo in participants with MIBC who are ctDNA positive and are at high risk for recurrence following cystectomy.

NCT ID: NCT04657822 Recruiting - Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Trials

Rollover Study for Patients With Sickle Cell Disease Who Have Completed a Prior Novartis-Sponsored Crizanlizumab Study

Start date: June 10, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This is a multi-center multi-national rollover study to allow continued access to crizanlizumab for patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) who are on crizanlizumab treatment in a Novartis-sponsored study (parent study) and are benefiting from the treatment as judged by the investigator.

NCT ID: NCT04655846 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Breastfeeding, Exclusive

Efficacy of an Educational Intervention in Exclusive Breastfeeding

Start date: January 18, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

About 40% of children under six months are breastfed. However, in adolescent mothers there are greater barriers to making the decision to breastfeed. Counseling on breastfeeding could be a helpful intervention in sustaining this practice. This is a single-blind randomized controlled trial type study, with a control group that will receive routine care, and an intervention group that will additionally receive "Counseling: breastfeeding" through a maternity preparation course, both conducted by trained nurses. 59 pregnant women will be included in each group that attend the prenatal control program, for a total of 118 users. The level of knowledge about breastfeeding, the rate of cessation of breastfeeding and the rate of cessation will be evaluated in three measurements during follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT04644185 Recruiting - Covid19 Clinical Trials

The Efficacy and Safety of SCTA01 in Hospitalized Patients With Severe COVID-19

Start date: March 27, 2021
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The study is a multicenter, adaptive, randomized, double-blinded and placebo-controlled Phase II/III trial, and will be conducted globally. The study is comprised of two parts: dose selection (Phase II) and pivotal treatment effect (Phase III).

NCT ID: NCT04638647 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Autoimmunity, Inflammation

Secukinumab Open Label Roll-over Extension Protocol

Start date: December 22, 2020
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess long term safety in participants who have completed a Novartis trial with secukinumab, have been judged by the investigator to benefit from continued treatment with secukinumab, and are unable to obtain the marketed secukinumab formulation.

NCT ID: NCT04628884 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Anticoagulant Antagonist Toxicity

Strategies for Protamine Dosing After Anticoagulation in Cardiovascular Surgery

SEPARATION
Start date: November 15, 2020
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

In cardiovascular surgery, patients are anticoagulated with heparin during cardiopulmonary bypass, subsequently, anticoagulation is reversed with protamine to reduce bleeding due to residual heparin-induced coagulopathy, which can last more than four hours. Protamine reverses the effect of heparin by binding to each heparin molecule, therefore an amount of protamine equivalent to residual heparin is required at the time that anticoagulation is desired to be reversed, but generally, the dose of protamine is calculated from the total dose of heparin, ignoring that heparin is metabolized and cleared during of the extracorporeal circulation, this excess of protamine produces anticoagulant effects that increase postoperative bleeding. Residual heparin can be estimated from heparin pharmacokinetic models and therefore, from these models, a dose closer to the amount necessary to reverse the effect of heparin can be estimated, avoiding protamine excess. In this study, a protamine dosage strategy based on residual heparin determined by a pharmacokinetic model of heparin versus total administered heparin will be compared regarding bleeding and use of blood components in the postoperative period.

NCT ID: NCT04613921 Recruiting - Liver Cirrhosis Clinical Trials

Liver Transplantation in Patients With CirrHosis and Severe Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure: iNdications and outComEs

CHANCE
Start date: July 8, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Management of ACLF is mainly supportive. The poor outcomes lead physicians to consider liver transplantation as an option, even if controversial. In sicker recipients, LT results in immediate survival, but poor medium-term survival rates in some studies. The scarcity of deceased donors obliges to maximize LT success. Alternative strategies, as living-donor LT, should be explored. LDLT has impressive results in Eastern centers, but it is restrained in Western countries, due to potential life-threatening complications in the donor.

NCT ID: NCT04613596 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Phase 2 Trial of Adagrasib Monotherapy and in Combination With Pembrolizumab and a Phase 3 Trial of Adagrasib in Combination in Patients With a KRAS G12C Mutation KRYSTAL-7

Start date: December 2, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The Phase 2 portion of this study evaluates the efficacy and safety of MRTX849 monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab in cohorts of patients with advanced NSCLC with KRAS G12C mutation and any PD-L1 TPS and who are candidates for first-line treatment. The Phase 3 portion of the study compares the efficacy of adagrasib in combination with pembrolizumab versus pembrolizumab in patients with unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic nonsquamous NSCLC with KRAS G12C mutation and PD-L1 TPS >=50% and who are candidates for first line treatment.
