All patients with head and neck cancers and osteomyelitis who underwent vascularized flap reconstruction at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital (North Campus), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, from February 2020 to July 2021 were the object of a retrospective data collection.Depending on whether they had postoperative early mobilization, all patients were split into experimental and control groups.In the experimental group, patients were split into two groups based on the postoperative day(POD): the POD 0-1 group and the POD >1 group.Comparison and analysis were done on the difference in hospital days and post-operative complication rates between the two groups.

Bell's Palsy With a Duration of Greater Than 8 Weeks Treated With Multiwave Locked System Intervention

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether photobiomodulation therapy by class IV Multiwave Locked System laser treatment could relieve symptoms in patients with Bell's palsy with a duration of greater than 8 weeks. METHODS AND METHODS: This randomized controlled trial from May 2021 to April 2023. Patients were eligible who had Bell's palsy with a duration of greater than 8 weeks on out-patient department of otorhinolaryngology in Beijing Tongren Hospital. The photobiomodulation group received class IV Multiwave Locked System laser treatment for 3 times per weeks, a total of 6 months. The control group received the same Multiwave Locked System treatment procedure except the laser parameter. The primary outcome measures comprised House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system, Sunnybrook facial grading system, Facial Clinimetric Evaluation Scale. Secondary outcome measures comprised Electroneurography, Electromyography, and the Blink Reflex.

Exercise Interventions on Problematic Mobile Phone Use: a Multi-arm Randomized Controlled Trial

Problematic mobile phone use (PMPU) has been described as a growing public health issue. This randomized controlled trial aimed to determine if aerobic exercise or Tai Chi Chuan as compared to the wait-list control group decreased PMPU-related symptoms; and to analyze the composition of the intestinal flora in the three study groups to explore the correlation between PMPU scores and flora species. A consecutive sample of 90 college students with PMPU was randomized to the aerobic exercise group (AE group, n = 30), the Tai Chi Chuan group (TCC group, n = 30), or the wait-list control group (WLC group, n = 30). The primary outcome was addiction symptoms, i.e., the PMPU score as assessed by the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV). Secondary outcomes were the emotion-related symptoms (depression, anxiety, self-esteem and self-efficacy), and physical-related symptoms (sleep quality, physical-fatigue and mental-fatigue). Intervention effects were analyzed via generalized estimated equation analysis (GEE).
