Preoperative Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid on POCD in Elderly Non-cardiac Surgical Patients

This study will recruit patients more than 65 years old eligible for non-cardiac surgery. Patients who participate will take either vitamin B12 and folic acid supplementation or placebo for 7 days before surgery. Neuropsychological test battery (NPB) will be tested before intervention and at discharge for determination of Post operative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). Another group of non-surgical elderly participants will also be tested for NPB to account for learning effect in POCD diagnosis. The hypothesis is that preoperative vitamin B12 supplementation will reduce the incidence of POCD in elderly patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery.

Real-World Study on Adjuvant Therapy Combined With Shenlingcao Oral Liquid in Patients for Stage II and IIIA Non-small Cell Lung Cancer After Radical Resection

This study will establish a multi-center, prospective registration database. The included population are stage II and IIIA NSCLC patients undergoing R0 resection and will be scheduled for adjuvant chemotherapy. Before the first adjuvant chemotherapy, under the recommendation of a doctor, patients will voluntarily choose to use (exposed group) or not to use (control group) Shenlingcao Oral Liquid, which donated by Jiangzhong Group for 30 bottles. The research centers need to be consecutively enrolled patients according to the allocation of the number of cases according to the ratio of 3: 1 in exposure group and control group. The exposed and control groups will be followed up to 36 months (non-allelic follow-up). Information from patients will be prospectively collected, including baseline, chemoradiation, use of Shenlingcao Oral Liquid and the other complementary drugs, and various outcome measures (the questionnaire of EORTC QLQ, death, tumor recurrence, tumor metastasis, and chemotherapy-induced side effects of the blood system, etc.). Follow-up points included: Baseline (before giving chemotherapy), 2-3 days after each chemotherapy cycle, and 6,12,18,24,30,36 months after enrollment.

Membranous Nephropathy-associated Serological Antibody Predict the Prognosis of Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy

Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) remains a common cause of the nephrotic syndrome in adults and one of the leading known causes of end-stage renal disease. Identification of circulating autoantigens provide potential biomarkers for diagnosis and therapy of idiopathic membranous nephropathy. M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) and Thrombospondin type-I domain-containing 7A (THSD7A) were identified as the target antigen in membranous nephropathy with high specificity and the concentration of serum anti-PLA2R antibody and anti-TSHD7A antibody were helpful for predicting disease activity. In our prospective cohort study, hospitalized patients diagnosed as IMN are prospectively studied. Circulating anti-PLA2R antibody and anti-THSD7A antibodies were recently screened by using enzyme-linked sorbent assay(ELISA). This study aims to analyse the difference of clinicopathological characteristics for different concentrations of serum anti PLA2R antibody and anti TSHD7A antibody, and analyze the association between baseline concentrations of serum antibody and disease activity. This study also explored the prediction effects of serum antibody concentrations with different types of therapeutic regimen in IMN and compare the curative effects of different types of therapeutic regimen in different serum antibody concentrations.

Prospective, Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Study to Evaluate the Effect of INTERCEED™

This is a prospective, randomized controlled study. The study population will include 220 subjects scheduled to undergo laparoscopic radical resection of rectal carcinoma with preventive ileostomy (Phase 1 operation). During the Phase 1 operation, when the definite decision to create a temporary ostomy is made, patients will be randomized in 1:1 ratio to either the treatment arm (INTERCEED™) or the control arm (standard of care treatment: no adhesion barrier, no placebo). In subjects assigned to the treatment arm, the INTERCEED™ must be applied beneath the target incision site (the midline incision mainly for the removal specimen). The subjects will return 3-9 months after the phase 1 operation (colorectal resection with temporary ileostomy) for phase 2 operation, to have their diverting ostomy taken down (ileostomy reversal). During the phase 2 operation (ileostomy reversal), the incidence, extent and severity of adhesions will be evaluated through the laparoscope.
