There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study compares efficacy (i.e. IOP and hypotensive medications) of phaco alone vs. combined phaco plus excimer laser trabeculotomy vs. combined phaco plus trabectome.
This is a randomized, double-blind, multicenter, phase 3 study evaluating orteronel (TAK-700) plus prednisone compared with placebo plus prednisone in the treatment of men with progressive, chemotherapy-naive, metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC)
The purpose of this study is to document the prevalence and type of asynchronies incidence during invasive mechanical ventilation in pediatric patients breathing under pressure support. And to observe the impact of adjusting the expiratory trigger setting on asynchronies, and compare these incidences with asynchronies measured in pediatric patient breathing under NAVA system (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist).
To evaluate the effect of an experimental oral nutritional supplement containing AN777 compared to another oral nutritional supplement in a malnourished, elderly population.
A single-center cohort study to identify uni- and multivariate associations between marker gene expression and clinico-pathological parameters for the detection of robust and novel prognostic tools in prostate cancer
This partially randomized phase III trial studies the side effects of different combinations of risk-adapted chemotherapy regimens and how well they work in treating younger patients with newly diagnosed standard-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia or B-lineage lymphoblastic lymphoma that is found only in the tissue or organ where it began (localized). Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy), giving the drugs in different doses, and giving the drugs in different combinations may kill more cancer cells.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the implantation of an Ultrapro® Mesh as prevention of incisional hernia after elective open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. According to the literature these patients have an increased risk for an incisional hernia. By the implantation of an artificial mesh into the abdominal wall during the first abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, the risk can be reduced dramatically. In small feasibility studies incisional hernia rates as low as 0% have been achieved. Patients scheduled for elective open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair will be randomized into two groups, one receiving an onlay mesh, the other conventional wound closure with sutures.
The study is to compare the postoperative recovery, as determined by postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after preoperative application of single-dose dexamethasone versus saline in patients undergoing partial or total thyroidectomy.
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride and trabectedin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether trabectedin is more effective than doxorubicin hydrochloride in treating patients with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II/III trial is studying the safety of trabectedin compared with doxorubicin hydrochloride and to see how well they work in treating patients with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the incidence and evolution over-time of co-morbidities in a general dual-chamber pacemaker population (n=2188 patients) through a 2 years follow-up.
