There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Parkinson's disease is a major neurodegenerative disorder in which there is a progressive loss of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. The understanding that PD is a syndrome of dopamine (DA) deficiency led to the introduction in the clinical practice of L-dopa, a precursor of DA that crosses the blood brain barrier, and also to the use of selective inhibitors of MAO B, the major DA metabolising enzyme in man. This is a double-blind, placebo-controlled, extension trial, parallel-group, randomised, multi-centre, multi national, Phase III trial, comparing two doses of safinamide (50 and 100 mg p.o. q.a.m.) versus placebo as add-on therapy to a stable dose of a single dopamine agonist in subjects with early idiopathic Parkinson's Disease. The principal objective is to evaluate the time to first intervention, as some previous data suggested that safinamide may delay the need for further dopaminergic supplementation.
Major surgery is still associated with a high rate of postoperative morbidity despite improved techniques in surgical management. Surgery-induced alterations of the immune system are well described and may play a role in the genesis of postoperative complications. It has been shown by several large scale clinical trials, that the use of immunonutrition in postoperative cancer surgery, trauma and critically ill patients resulted in an improved immunocompetence and/or reduced postoperatively infectious morbidity and/or length of hospital stay. The pre-operative regimen was between 5 to 7 days of treatment. The aim of this trial is to evaluate if a shorter administration of 3 days pre-operatively would be beneficial as well.
The investigators will study whether local instillation of Doxycycline and Acetylcystein results in fistula closure in CD patients.
The investigators will study the effect of Adalimumab on the bone microstructure. - Trial with medicinal product
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Chemoembolization kills tumor cells by carrying drugs directly into the tumor and blocking the blood flow to the tumor. Everolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether transarterial chemoembolization with doxorubicin is more effective when given alone or when given together with everolimus in treating patients with liver cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of everolimus when given together with transarterial chemoembolization with doxorubicin and to see how well it works compared with giving transarterial chemoembolization with doxorubicin alone in treating patients with liver cancer.
The aim of this randomized clinical study is to show non-inferiority of a change of anti-viral therapy from telbivudine to lamivudine in patients who have achieved an undetectable viral load at week 24 of telbivudine therapy compared to continuous treatment with telbivudine with respect to the viral breakthrough rate at week 108 as the primary clinical outcome.
The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety and tolerability of bapineuzumab in subjects with Alzheimer Disease who participated in study 3133K1-3001(NCT00676143). Over 250 sites will participate in over 26 countries. Subjects will receive bapineuzumab. Each subject's participation will last approximately 4 years.

This study will look at how safe and effective, a novel agent, CT 327 cream is in treating patients with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (AD). Patients will be treated twice daily for 14 days on specific lesions of AD and safety and symptoms of AD will be assessed throughout the treatment period.
The main objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness, tolerability, and safety of tapentadol hydrochloride prolonged release in subjects suffering from severe chronic low back pain (LBP) who are taking WHO Step III analgesics and show lack of tolerability. This is a clinical effectiveness trial designed to establish a link between anticipated clinical outcomes and the clinical practice by means of selected measures of clinical and subject-reported outcome. The trial will compare the effectiveness of previous analgesic treatment (WHO Step III) with that of tapentadol hydrochloride prolonged release treatment during defined periods of evaluation.
