There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary purpose of the study is to compare the effectiveness of nivolumab plus concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) followed by nivolumab plus ipilimumab vs CCRT followed by durvalumab in participants with untreated Locally Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (LA NSCLC).
Study with Patients (40-60 participants) above the age of 65. There will be a comparison of regular training on ergometer (10 trainings within 2 weeks, 40 min each) to high intensity interval training on ergometer (6 trainings within 2 weeks, 25 min each). At the beginning and at the end will be a spiroergometer to measure the individual limits and vO2max, which will be compared amongst the two groups. To receive a subjective feedback, there will be a series of questionnaires at the beginning, after one week and at the end. The goal of this study is to get more information about whether a HII-Training is feasible with elderly patients and whether they can profit form it.
The purpose of this Post-Approval Study (PAS) is to evaluate the long-term performance of the Model 4798 Left Ventricular (LV) lead in a real-world patient population. Patients will be followed for the duration of the PAS. This study is required by FDA as a condition of approval of the Model 4798 LV lead and is integrated within the Product Surveillance Registry (PSR).
Carcinoma of the prostate is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer and occurs predominantly in older men - almost two-thirds of those affected are over 65 years of age. In a significant proportion of patients, the disease is harmless and progresses only very slowly. As a result, there is a risk of overdiagnosis and overtreatment. The main diagnostic tool for prostate cancer is the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, but its specificity is minimal. It is important to look for other biological characteristics (biomarkers) that provide pointers to the need for a diagnosis and treatment. Even after treatment and in advanced stages of disease, decisions are often difficult, because it is not necessarily clear which patient needs a specific treatment. In this study, a multicenter biobank of patient sera, plasma and tissue is being established together with information of relevance to the disease, in order to provide a basis for the testing of biomarkers. The aim is to identify markers that offer diagnostic and treatment-selective pointers and thus make a decisive contribution to the optimum care of patients.
This is a pivotal phase 3 study designed to support an indication for the reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients with established CVD and elevated Lp(a)
The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of cusatuzumab in combination with azacitidine in participants with previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are not eligible for intensive chemotherapy.
This study focuses on the difficulties of maintaining optimal psychological health and quality of life for caregivers in adult psychiatry while they play an important role in helping patients with severe psychiatric disorders. It evaluates the addition of a 5 session psychological program, named Ensemble. Half of the participants will receive their usual support and Ensemble in combination, while the other half will receive usual support only.
In order to assess the rate and mode of failure cases observed in patients with distal femur fractures treated with a distal femur plates, anonymized radiographs from those patients will be collected retrospectively. All available images will reviewed by an expert review board in regards to fracture classification, implant and surgery details, quality of initial reduction and plate positioning as well as the occurrence of mechanical complications and the outcome in terms of fracture healing (if available). Additionally, age and gender as basic demographical data will be collected in a de-identified way..
Phase Ib trial including investigating the combination of nab-paclitaxel and cisplatin in patients diagnosed with peritoneal carcinomatosis related to pancreatic, oeso-gastric, ovarian cancer or primitive peritoneal mesothelioma.
This study will be comprised of 2 parts: Part 1 (dose escalation) will be conducted to evaluate the safety and tolerability of 2 doses (100 milligrams/kilogram [mg/kg] and 200 mg/kg) of eteplirsen in approximately 10 participants with DMD; Part 2 (dose finding and dose comparison) will be conducted for the selection of a high dose (100 mg/kg versus 200 mg/kg) and its comparison with the 30 mg/kg dose of eteplirsen, in approximately 144 participants with genetically confirmed deletion mutations amenable to treatment by skipping exon 51.
