There are about 9403 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Switzerland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a post-marketing surveillance on Medacta Shoulder System
The Swiss Conference of Cantonal Health Directors has transferred the planning of highly specialized medicine to a specialized body under the direction of the Swiss Academy of Sciences. This specialist body has defined the treatment of critically ill as part of highly specialized medicine and founded the Swiss Trauma Registry at 12 hospitals in Switzerland. The registry is designed to provide a consistent and standardized approach and treatment outcomes in the short and long term quality control and as a basis for planning highly specialized medicine.
This registry study aims to collect data on efficacy and safety of different treatments of benign prostatic enlargement (BPE) and lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH-LUTS).
All patients having an implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) implanted and having follow-up at the Cantonal Hospital Lucerne (LUKS), the investigator center, are included in this retrospective ICD lead registry from 2006 onwards. Data is collected prospectively from december 2016 onwards. After certain ICD-leads tended to fail early the investigators aimed for a registry monitoring our patient population with defibrillator leads and evaluating their long-term performance.
This study is designed to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of mirikizumab in participants with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC). The study will last up to 3 years. Participants who complete the 3-year study may continue to receive mirikizumab until it is (outside of this study) in their country or until they meet other discontinuation criteria.
This is a prospective randomized study whose aim is to compare the efficacy of the permanent thoracic catheter (Pleur-X) versus chemical pleurodesis in videothoracoscopy (VATS) in the treatment of malignant pleural effusion at the first diagnosis.Patients with malignant pleural effusion for whom there is indication of surgery and who agree to participate in the study will be randomized 1: 1 in the Pleur-X arm (arm 1) or in the chemical pleurodesis arm (arm 2). The arm 1 provides for the installation of a permanent drainage under local anesthesia while the arm 2 provides a pleurodesis with talc in VATS under general anesthesia. Both procedures are standard of care.
The iPCD Cohort is an international cohort that assembles available retrospective datasets and prospectively newly collected clinical and diagnostic data from patients suffering from primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) worldwide, to answer pertinent questions on clinical phenotype, disease severity, prognosis and effect of treatments in patients with this rare multiorgan disease.
This is a prospective, multi-center, blinded feasibility study. The objective of this study is to test the feasibility of the detection of tumor DNA of a variety of tumors in peripheral blood using a novel process for the detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA).
This study will thus examine daily behaviour based on smartphone use and link it to the neurological and neuropsychological status as well as to neuroradiological studies that are part of the clinical routine. The study will examine behaviour changes before and after surgery, and how this change in measured behaviour with the smartphone relates to today's "gold standard", namely professional neuropsychological examination and quantification of brain damage on imaging studies (MRI). This study is a proof-of-principle study that intends to build the basis for larger future observational studies on patients with focal or diffuse brain pathologies.
RATIONALE: The use of tailored axillary dissection as a tailored procedure will avoid surgical overtreatment by selectively removing the lymph nodes that are affected by the cancer, thereby sparing many women the unnecessary complications of a radical surgery, providing a better quality of life while keeping the same efficacy. PURPOSE: The phase III trial is evaluating the optimal treatment for breast cancer patients in terms of surgery and radiotherapy.
