RV dysfunction has been associated with increased mortality in the ICU and cardiac surgical patients. Thus, early identification of RV dysfunction at less severe stages will allow for earlier intervention and potentially better patient outcomes. However, so far, no studies have reported prospectively the prevalence of abnormal RV pressure waveform during cardiac surgery and in the ICU. The investigator's primary hypothesis is that the prevalence of abnormal RV pressure waveform occurs in more than 50% of cardiac surgical patients throughout their hospitalization. Those patients with abnormal RV pressure waveform will be more prone to post-operative complications related to RV dysfunction and failure in the OR and ICU.
This is a study with 3 kinase inhibitors (PF 06650833, PF 06700841 and PF 06826647) in participants with moderate to severe HS. The study will have a maximum duration of approximately 26 weeks. This includes an up to 6-week Screening Period, a 16 week Dosing Period and a 4 week Follow up Period.
The purpose of this research study is to see how safe and tolerable, and to find the highest or best dose, of an investigational combination of drugs called enasidenib and venetoclax, in patients with relapsed (the cancer has come back) or refractory (the cancer does not respond or have stopped responding to treatment) acute myeloid leukemia (AML, a type of blood cancer). This study will also see how useful the combination of enasidenib and venetoclax is in the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory AML.

In this study researcher want to learn more about the change of physical activity of hemophilia A patients treated with damoctocog alfa pegol. Patients enrolled in this study will be wearing a small device measuring daily active time. Researcher will compare these physical activity data with patient's clinical data including bleeding events to gain information on how bleeding levels are related to the activity level of the patients. The study aims to enroll about 80 patients who are at the same time also participating in the HEM-POWR study (NCT03932201) evaluating the effectiveness and safety of damoctocog alfa pegol.
This study will evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and clinical activity of belantamab mafodotin in combination with Velcade (bortezomib), Revlimid (lenalidomide), dexamethasone (VRd) and will determine recommended phase 3 dose (RP3D) in adult participants with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM). Participants will receive the combination of bortezomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone (VRd) on a 3-week cycle until cycle 8, followed by the combination of lenalidomide and dexamethasone (Rd) on a 4-week cycle thereafter as per dosing schedule. Participants will receive belantamab mafodotin on a schedule that is dependent on the cohort to which they are assigned. Belantamab mafodotin will be administered in combination with VRd every 3 weeks (Q3W), every 6 weeks (Q6W), or every 9 weeks (Q9W) to Cycle 8, and then in combination with Rd every 4 weeks (Q4W), every 8 weeks (Q8W), or every 12 weeks (Q12W) thereafter. Participants will complete an End of Treatment (EOT) visit at the point of study treatment discontinuation, followed by a Safety Follow-up visit 70 days after EOT.
The purpose of this study is to collect clinical evidence on valve performance and procedural outcomes associated with an "optimized" TAVR care pathway and post-TAVR conduction disturbance pathway while using the Evolutâ„¢ PRO and Evolutâ„¢ PRO+ devices. The purpose of the addendum is to collect post-market clinical evidence on valve performance and procedural outcomes associated with the Evolut FX Device.
This is a two-part study designed to evaluate the effect of Estetrol (E4) 15 or 20 mg, or placebo on the severity and frequency of vasomotor symptoms (VMS) (Efficacy Study Part) and the safety of E4 20 mg (Safety Study Part).
Approximately 1 in 10 teenagers lives with a chronic health condition that will require ongoing care as they enter adulthood. Birth defects of the heart, also known as congenital heart disease (CHD) are more common than any other type of birth defect and affect about 1 in 100 children, with most surviving to adulthood. However, most teenagers with CHD have little knowledge about their heart and lack confidence in talking with doctors and nurses about their health. These are essential skills when entering the adult-oriented health care system after graduating from pediatric care. In the current study proposal our team plans to evaluate the effectiveness of delivering 1-on-1 teaching sessions for adolescents who live in smaller communities and can't easily come to Edmonton for appointments in the heart clinic. Fortunately in Alberta we have a widely available system called Telehealth that allows nurses and teens to meet by private, secure teleconferencing while hundreds of miles away. Telehealth is provided by health clinics around the province. We propose to use Telehealth in adolescents' home communities to provide these teaching sessions for 16-19 year olds with CHD who are soon going to be graduating from pediatric to adult care. Participants who receive a nurse-led teaching session will be compared with a similar number of adolescents who are not offered a teaching session, using a questionnaire that addresses skills related to taking care of their health condition. This questionnaire will be completed on-line (or if preferred by the participant, by letter mail) 1 month and 6 month after entering the study. Deciding which adolescents receive a nurse-led teaching session will be random, i.e. like the flip of a coin. Regardless, all participants will receive access to a website for young people with CHD called iHeartChange.
