Fractionated Carbon Dioxide Laser Therapy for Treatment of Peyronie's Disease

Start date: May 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a pilot study that evaluates the use of Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser Therapy in the treatment of Peyronie's Disease. Study participants will be assigned to receive Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser Therapy at 10-15% laser density coverage.

NCT ID: NCT04326322 Recruiting - Pregnancy Related Clinical Trials

Methionine Requirements During Healthy Human Pregnancy

Start date: September 14, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The current recommendations for dietary amino acid intake in pregnant women are based on calculations from requirements of adult men. The study aims to determine methionine requirements during early (11-20 weeks) and late (31-38 weeks) stages of pregnancy. Methionine, an essential amino acid (building block of body protein), is necessary for protein synthesis and for DNA related cellular functions. A non-invasive, novel method based on different diets, stable isotopes (the safe kind) and simple breath collection will be used. This method has recently been used by our laboratory to study other amino acids during pregnancy.

NCT ID: NCT04325958 Recruiting - Cannabis Clinical Trials

Age Differences in the Effects of Cannabis on Simulated Driving

ADCUF
Start date: March 27, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Epidemiological studies suggest that the use of cannabis is associated with an increase in the risk of motor vehicle collisions. It is also known that younger users may be at increased risk for motor vehicle collisions. Further, the frequency with which cannabis is used may be an important variable in determining the effects of cannabis on driving. The purpose of the present study will be to investigate the effects of cannabis on simulated driving in young as compared to middle-aged drivers. Half of the participants will be occasional users of cannabis and half will be frequent users of cannabis.

NCT ID: NCT04325334 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis, Knee

Osteoarthritis Running & Cartilage Assessment

ORCA
Start date: December 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a debilitating disease affecting millions of Canadians. Exercise is a core treatment for knee OA, and is advocated by all clinical guidelines. However, the safety of recreational running in the presence of knee OA is unclear. There are no studies available to provide direct data to appropriately inform runners and clinicians whether running should be advocated for joint health. Our research study will address this gap.

NCT ID: NCT04325269 Not yet recruiting - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Continuous Ambulatory ECG Monitoring for Detection of Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation Following Thoracic Surgery

Start date: April 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common and serious complication after lung resection. The incidence is likely underestimated, and risk may persist after leaving hospital. Recent development of simple wearable patch ECG devices may provide sensitive detection of AF in the extended postoperative period. Specific biomarkers may allow us to predict which patients are at risk of developing postoperative AF.

NCT ID: NCT04325022 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Revision of the Hip Joint

Safety and Effectiveness Study of OR3O™ Dual Mobility System in THA

OR3O
Start date: July 27, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of the OR3O™ Dual Mobility System. The study will evaluate the outcome of the Total Hip Arthroplasty using the OR3O™ Dual Mobility System over a ten year period. Survivorship of THA will be assessed up to ten years.

NCT ID: NCT04324463 Completed - Coronavirus Clinical Trials

Anti-Coronavirus Therapies to Prevent Progression of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Trial

ACTCOVID19
Start date: April 21, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

ACT is a randomized clinical trial to assess therapies to reduce the clinical progression of COVID-19.

NCT ID: NCT04323969 Terminated - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis, Knee

Gait Modification for Knee Osteoarthritis

SENSMOD
Start date: February 20, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized clinical trial will compare the changes in performance, biomechanical and clinical outcomes before and after a six-week gait modification intervention. Participants with knee osteoarthritis will attend in-lab assessments and practice, while also performing daily, at-home walking tracked using a custom sensorized shoe.

NCT ID: NCT04323761 Approved for marketing - SARS-CoV2 Infection Clinical Trials

Expanded Access Treatment Protocol: Remdesivir (RDV; GS-5734) for the Treatment of SARS-CoV2 (CoV) Infection (COVID-19)

Start date: n/a
Phase:
Study type: Expanded Access

The primary objective of this study is to provide expanded access of remdesivir (RDV) for the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) infection.

NCT ID: NCT04323436 Terminated - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Non-Small-Cell Lung

Study of Capmatinib and Spartalizumab/Placebo in Advanced NSCLC Patients With MET Exon 14 Skipping Mutations

Start date: August 19, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

A double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized, phase II study evaluating the efficacy and safety of capmatinib (INC280) and spartalizumab (PDR001) combination therapy versus capmatinib and placebo as first line treatment for locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with MET exon 14 skipping (METΔex14) mutations
