There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this clinical trial is to explore the impact of an online compassion-based intervention on burnout among specialist rehabilitation providers. Post-intervention interviews aim to gather information on: burnout and compassion, experiences with the intervention, barriers and facilitators to taking part, and suggestions for improving online course delivery.
This trial will evaluate safety and efficacy of human engineered T-cell therapies, in participants with advanced tumors. This trial is a sub study of the Master study NCT03967223.
Brief Summary: Ketones are a source of energy and signaling molecule that are produced by the body when not consuming any food or consistently eating a low-carbohydrate "keto" diet. Blood ketones can be used as a source of energy by the body, but they may also act as signals that impact how different cells in the body function. Recently, ketone supplements have been developed that can be consumed as a drink. These supplements can raise blood ketones without having to fast or eat a "keto" diet. Previous studies have shown that these supplement drinks can lower blood sugar without having to make any other dietary changes. Drinking these ketone supplements may therefore be an effective strategy to improve blood sugar control and influence how cells function. To find out if it is feasible for people with type 2 diabetes to drink these ketones supplements regularly over 90 days, we will compare between two groups in this study: one group that will be asked to drink ketone supplements, and one group that will be asked to drink a placebo supplement.
Trisomy 21, commonly known as down syndrome, is the most common chromosomal abnormality in humans. Advanced maternal age (AMA) is a well-recognized risk factor for trisomy 21, with the risk increasing significantly beyond the age of 35. Research on the effects of paternal age on the prenatal risk of trisomy 21 is lacking, with inconsistent findings in the literature. The Harmony® prenatal test is an Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) that screens maternal blood for chromosomal abnormalities in the Cell-Free Fetal DNA (cfDNA). The harmony® prenatal test can detect conditions such as trisomy 13, 18, and 21, as well as sex chromosome abnormalities. The Optimo test is a prenatal screening test that screens for trisomies 13, 18 and 21 in the developing fetus using extended biochemical screening in maternal. The Optimo test has shown high sensitivity and specificity in detecting trisomy 21.
To assess the ability of RSVPreF3 OA investigational vaccine to generate an immune response when given in combination with HZ/su vaccine and its safety in older adults, aged >=50 years of age.
This project aims to address the impact of frailty on older adults, particularly its connection to cognitive impairments such as dementia. By identifying frailty in its early stages, interventions can be designed to slow down the progression of cognitive decline. To achieve this, the project plans to develop a reliable at-home monitoring system that can accurately track frailty in older adults with mild cognitive impairment or dementia. By utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as high-precision indoor positioning and home-installed sensors, referred to as zero-effort technologies (ZETs), the system will collect continuous sensor data, which will be analyzed to identify indicators of frailty.
The goal of this observational study is to determine the incidence of dislodgement for adductor canal catheters after total knee arthroplasty on post-operative day 1. We will also attempt to identify factors associated with secondary catheter failure.
The goal of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of MK-0616 in adult participants with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. The primary hypothesis is that MK-0616 is superior to placebo on mean percent change from baseline in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) at Week 24.
The proposed study is a continuation of two prospective, multi-centre, non-controlled studies of the Pinnacle and Pinnacle Dual Mobility total hip arthroplasty systems, originally initiated by DePuy Synthes (DSJ_2018_02 and DJS_2019_02, respectively).
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the immunogenicity, safety, and reactogenicity of the RSVPreF3 OA investigational vaccine in an immunocompromised (lung and renal transplant recipients) population and assess whether a second dose of the vaccine increases the immune response.
