Study of Bepirovirsen in Nucleos(t)Ide Analogue-treated Participants With Chronic Hepatitis B (B-Well 1)

This study is intended to confirm the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetic (PK) profile, and the durability of hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) suppression observed with bepirovirsen for 24 weeks (with loading doses) as compared to the placebo arm. This study will have 4 stages: a) Double-blind treatment (bepirovirsen or placebo) for 24 weeks. b) Nucleos(t)ide analogue (NA) treatment for 24 weeks. c) NA cessation stage OR Continue NA for 24 weeks. d) Durability of response and follow up for further 24 weeks for participants who stopped NA treatment at Week 48. The arms will be stratified based on HBsAg level (HBsAg greater than or equal to [≥] 100 international unit per milliliter [IU/mL] to less than or equal [≤]1000 IU/mL or greater than [>] 1000 IU/mL to ≤3000 IU/mL) at screening. The total duration of the study, including screening (up to 60 days), the double-blind treatment stage (24 weeks), the On NA only stage (24 weeks), and the NA cessation and durability stages (48 weeks) is up to approximately 104 weeks at maximum for each participant.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether bemnifosbuvir (BEM) is effective and safe in adults with COVID-19 who do not need to be in the hospital but who are at high risk for progression to severe disease. Eligible subjects will be randomly assigned (by chance) to receive BEM or matching placebo orally for 5 days. Co-administration of locally available standard of care (SOC) is allowed. The total duration of the study is 60 days.

Public Health Nurse-Delivered 1-Day CBT Workshops for PPD

Public Health Nurses (PHN) received training to deliver a day-long Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-based workshop for treating postpartum depression (PPD). Participants in the study are randomly assigned to the treatment group (1-day CBT workshop) or control group (usual postnatal care). Data will be collected from all participants at baseline, 3 and 6 months. The study will aim to determine if online day-long CBT-based workshops delivered by public health nurses can be added to treatment as usual to improve postpartum depression more than treatment as usual alone, iif the workshops are cost-effective, and if the workshops can stably improve depression, its common comorbidities and reduce adverse effects on the family. Hypotheses: Online 1-Day CBT-Based Workshops delivered by PHNs will be an effective (and cost-effective) way to stably improve PPD, its comorbidities, and reduce its adverse effects on the family.

This project aims to study an innovative intervention, the eG2 Intervention, developed by speech-language pathologists at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal to improve therapeutic adherence and prevent dysphagia in patients treated with chemoradiotherapy for head and neck cancer. The innovation consists in offering a speech therapy intervention that is 1) virtual, 2) group-based (whereas it is usually individual) and 3) involves a patient partner. This intervention has the potential to improve quality of care, accessibility to services and optimize health care resources.

Safety and Effectiveness of Evinacumab for the Treatment of Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia

This is an open-label study designed to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of evinacumab, a fully human ANGPTL3 antibody, in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH), in a real-life setting in Canada. Eligible patients for this study are male and female adult patients with HoFH. Evinacumab will be added on top of the patient's background lipid-modifying therapy (LMT), including statins, ezetimibe, PCSK9 inhibitors, lomitapide or other lipid lowering therapies. This study will be conducted using an hybrid (on-site, foldable sites) approach. Patients will enter the current study, in an open-label treatment period, following their screening. This study will continue until reimbursement of evinacumab in Canada or for a maximum of 24 months. The end of study (EoS) visit will be scheduled 4 weeks after the last dose has been injected and will be followed by a 52-week follow-up.
