NCT ID: NCT03828019 Active, not recruiting - Uveitis Clinical Trials

Adalimumab vs. Conventional Immunosuppression for Uveitis Trial

ADVISE
Start date: September 16, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Non-infectious intermediate, posterior, and panuveitides are chronic, potentially-blinding diseases. Vision-threatening cases require long-term therapy with oral corticosteroids and immunosuppression. Based upon preliminary data, adalimumab, a fully-human, anti-TNF-α monoclonal antibody, now US FDA-approved for uveitis treatment, may be a superior corticosteroid-sparing agent than conventional immunosuppressive drugs. The ADVISE Trial is multicenter randomized, parallel-treatment, comparative effectiveness trial comparing adalimumab to conventional (small molecule) immunosuppression for corticosteroid spring in the treatment of non-infectious, intermediate, posterior, and panuveitides.

NCT ID: NCT03826407 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Disorder of Consciousness

Development of a Point of Care System for Automated Coma Prognosis

Start date: October 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Electroencephalogram/event-related potentials (EEG/ERP) data will be collected from 50 participants in coma or other disorder of consciousness (DOC; i.e., Unresponsive Wakefulness Syndrome [UWS] or Minimally Conscious State [MCS]), clinically diagnosed using the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS). For coma patients, EEG recordings will be conducted for up to 24 consecutive hours at a maximum of 5 timepoints, spanning 30 days from the date of recruitment, to track participants' clinical state. For DOC patients, there will be an initial EEG recording up to 24 hours, with possible subsequent weekly recordings up to 2 hours. An additional dataset from 40 healthy controls will be collected, each spanning up to a 12-hour recording period in order to formulate a baseline. Collected data are to form the basis for automatic analysis and detection of ERP components in DOC, using a machine learning paradigm. Salient features (i.e., biomarkers) extracted from the ERPs and resting-state EEG will be identified and combined in an optimal fashion to give an accurate indicator of prognosis.

NCT ID: NCT03825276 Active, not recruiting - Metabolic Syndrome Clinical Trials

Effect of Mango on Gut Microbiota and Metabolic Health

Start date: January 15, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Mango is rich in bioactive compounds such as dietary polyphenols and carotenoids, which may explain its beneficial effect on health. Polyphenols accumulate in the gut where they can positively modulate the microbiota. As gut microbiota may have a strong influence on cardiometabolic health, we hypothesize that mango consumption improves metabolic profile in overweight or obese individuals through beneficial changes in gut microbiota. The study of metagenomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics will be used to validate this hypothesis.

NCT ID: NCT03822897 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Oropharyngeal Cancer

De-Escalation Radiotherapy in Patients With Low-Risk HPV-Related Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

EVADER
Start date: June 28, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to find out whether radiotherapy to some of the lymph node areas can be safely omitted to decrease side effects without increasing the risk of the tumour coming back.

NCT ID: NCT03822468 Active, not recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of 2 Ribociclib Doses in Combination With Aromatase Inhibitors in Women With HR+, HER2- Advanced Breast Cancer

AMALEE
Start date: June 11, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

QT interval prolongation and neutropenia are considered to be important identified risks for ribociclib. The approved dosing regimen of ribociclib is 600 mg daily (QD) on a 3 weeks on/1 week off schedule. The purpose of the study is to explore whether a reduced dosing regimen of 400 mg ribociclib orally QD 3 weeks on/1 week off may decrease the risk of QTc prolongation without compromising the efficacy of ribociclib in combination with a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor (NSAI) in pre- and postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive (HR-positive), HER2-negative advanced breast cancer (aBC) who have not received prior therapy for advanced disease.
