to investigate the effect of oral hygiene self-efficacy in patients with grief (G) and complicated grief (CG)
This is a Phase III/IV, single-arm, multicenter study of the long-term safety and efficacy of atezolizumab treatment in participants with Stage IIIb or Stage IV NSCLC who have progressed after standard systemic chemotherapy (including if given in combination with anti-programmed cell death protein 1 [anti-PD-1] therapy, after anti-PD-1 as monotherapy, or after tyrosine kinase inhibitor [TKI] therapy). The study will consist of a Screening Period, a Treatment Period, a Treatment Discontinuation Visit, and a Follow-Up Period.
1. BACKGROUND: Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) is a disease characterized by a set of signs and symptoms that may include joint noise, pain in the mastication muscles, limitation of mandibular movements, facial pain, joint pain and / or dental wear. Pain appears as a very present and striking symptom, with a tendency to chronicity. This is a difficult treatment condition often associated with psychological factors such as anxiety. Chronic pain involved modifications in the neuronal excitability, therefore, the neuromodulation withTranscranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) appears as a possible strategy for the treatment. Some studies have shown improvement in subjects with chronic pain using tDCS, however, it needs further investigation of its therapeutic effect. 2. PROBLEM: Despite the wide range of strategies used to treat patients with TMD, some patients have a temporary and / or unsatisfactory relief response, which generates hypotheses that emotional components often underlie treatment refractoriness, and development of a memory for pain. Thus, it is evident the need for a therapy that acts directly on the central nervous system (CNS). This action can occur through medications, however, many individuals are refractory or have side effects such as dependence and / or tolerance. In this way, the importance of new treatments involving neuromodulation and neuroplasticity mechanisms, such as tDCS, is highlighted, which may become a complementary alternative to the different types of treatment already in use. Besides corroborating with the need to give preference to reversible and non-invasive procedures. 3. HYPOTHESIS: The investigators believe that the use of anodic tDCS in the treatment of patients with TMD presenting with chronic pain will have a positive effect, promoting a decrease in painful symptoms through a Central Nervous System (neuromodulation) action in comparison to placebo stimulation. Because of the mutual influence between pain and psychological factors, it is expected that the analgesic effect will have a positive effect on anxiety levels. In addition, it is believed that a more intense analgesic effect occurs in the DLPF stimulation group of the cortex compared to the M1 stimulation group, since this region demonstrates to be responsible for the processing of the emotional component of the pain, often underlying the refractoriness to treatment 4. AIM: To evaluate and compare the efficacy of anodic tDCS, applied in different cortical regions (M1 and DLPFC), in the pain and anxiety levels in individuals with chronic pain due muscular TMD.
Cancer-associated anorexia-cachexia is an insidious syndrome that has a major impact on the patient's quality of life, but is also associated with a significant reduction in survival. Despite its clinical importance, it remains a widely underestimated and untreated condition. Considering the scarcity of pharmacological measures, it is necessary to invest in studies that may contribute to the rational and effective treatment of this clinical condition. Mirtazapine has a special therapeutic potential because it is a well-tolerated drug with few adverse effects and with well-known orexigenic action in clinical practice.The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of mirtazapine as a pharmacological measure in the management of cancer-related anorexia-cachexia in patients in palliative care. A randomized, double-blind clinical trial involving 52 cancer patients with anorexia-cachexia in palliative care will be conducted. Patients will be randomized to receive mirtazapine or megestrol and will be evaluated longitudinally for a period of 8 weeks. The primary endpoint will be to assess the effect of mirtazapine on anorexia and weight gain and secondary outcomes will be to assess the tolerability and safety of mirtazapine and the effect of mirtazapine on body composition, quality of life, and functional capacity of patients.
Systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) is characterized by elevated and sustained blood pressure levels, related to several risk factors. Modifying lifestyle to combat risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease is critical, as such factors are related alteration of endothelial vasodilator response leading to progressive loss of its protective function. However, endothelial dysfunction related to hypertension is not only related to the decrease in the bioavailability of endothelium relaxants, but also to the time of presence of hypertension, increased production of vessel contraction factors and oxidative stress related to the disease. In this way, physical training presents as a non-drug strategy capable of directly and indirectly influencing the pathophysiology of hypertension. In this way the objective of the present work will be to evaluate the acute and chronic effect of aerobic exercise and strength on blood pressure, blood markers of vasodilation and vascular endothelial vasoconstriction, as well as the repercussion on flow-mediated dilatation and oxidative stress markers, In middle-aged hypertensive individuals before and after 12 weeks of training. Study hypothesis: The expected results of the research are that the endothelial response of biochemical markers of vasodilation and vasoconstriction will change positively after aerobic and strength training and the responses will be similar when compared between groups. There will be an improvement in the antioxidant capacity in both groups and the magnitude of the hypotensive effect will be greater in the aerobic group when compared to control and strength.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate early and delayed effects of Transcranial LED Therapy (TCLT) and determinate whether this therapy is effective for cognitive rehabilitation of Diffuse Axonal Injury patients after Traumatic Brain Injury.
Anterior Knee Pain or Patellofemoral Pain (PFP) is one of the most common disorders that affecting knee in the physically active population, being a condition that typically presents as diffuse knee pain in the anterior region and retro- or peri-patellar area, mainly in activities that increase compression force in patellofemoral joint, such as squatting, running, stair ascent and descent. The overall prevalence of PFP has been reported as between 15-45% of the population, and its incidence is higher among women. The literature cites as etiology of PFP the ocorrence of dysfunctions in the local (knee), proximal (trunk, pelvis and hip complex) and distal (ankle and foot regions) factores. Actually, there is a lack of studies that investigate the interventions influences on distal factors in outcomes clinical in persons with PFP. Thus, the aim of this study is analyze the effect of ankle mobilization techiniques in ankle dorsiflexion range of motion closed kinetic chain in women with patellofemoral pain and with dorsoflexion restriction.
Although tuberculosis is a treatable disease, it is currently the infectious disease with the highest mortality in the world. It is estimated that one-third of the world's population is infected. HIV is the main predisposing factor for TB development. The Brazilian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization recommends that patients should initially be treated orally with RIPE - rifampicin (R), isoniazid (I), pyrazinamide (P) and ethambutol (E). The N-acetylcysteine (NAC) first benefit was reported during the 1960s, when it proved to be an effective mucolytic agent in individuals with cystic fibrosis. Later, a new role arose when investigating its therapeutic potential in acetaminophen intoxication. Cleavage of the acetyl group makes cysteine available for later incorporation into glutathione synthesis, decreased in hepatic injury caused by acetaminophen. This mechanism causes NAC to have an indirect antioxidant effect, which aroused an interest in studying the effect in diseases that occur with oxidative stress. TB and HIV/Aids are also diseases with chronic inflammation. The present study aims to evaluate the effects of NAC as a adjuvant therapy in the treatment of TB. This is a phase II randomized clinical trial in which the safety and tolerability of NAC as adjunctive therapy for TB treatment will be assessed. Fifty-six patients will be randomized into two groups. The first group will receive the standard tuberculosis treatment as recommended by the Brazilian Ministry of Health (RIPE); the second will receive in addition to this treatment 1200mg of NAC per day for two months. In this way, microscopy and culture conversion rate to mycobacteria at 8 weeks, levels of glutathione and biomarkers of immune activation and inflammation in case of TB with or without NAC will be monitored.

This is a randomized, controlled and blind clinical trial with 60 type 2 diabetes patients divided into 2 groups of 30 patients each, Control Group (CG) and Treatment Group (TG). The TG will receive self-care guidelines with feet and 12 sessions of foot reflexology, while the CG will only receive the guideline.
