There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Twenty-seven breast cancer women without heart failure, underwent CMR imaging (3T-Achieva, Philips) before and 3 times serially after 4-cycles of adjuvant DOX (60mg/m2). CMR assessed left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (EF), T1 mapping pre and post gadolinium and late gadolinium enhancement imaging. Biomarkers were obtained before and 72 hours after each DOX-cycle.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of eltrombopag in combination with cyclosporine alone as first-line therapy on overall hematologic response
Background: the autism spectrum disorders (ASD) can be related with abnormalities in cortical structures and cause behavior imbalances. In addition, as soon as the diagnosis is done, the better will be the prognosis. In this context, heart rate variability (HRV) stands out, which is a non-invasive tool representing autonomic modulation, with potential prognostic value. The literature showed there are no changes in HRV at rest using linear methods of analysis, but changes can be identified during tasks. Nonlinear methods of HRV are more sensitive and provide additional information to the linear. Objective: to analyze autonomic modulation using nonlinear and linear indexes of HRV in children with ASD at rest and during tasks in comparison to typical children. In addition, to correlate HRV analysis between them, also between behavior and severity of the disease. Methods: this study involves both typical children and children with ASD. Autonomic modulation will be performed using nonlinear indices (extracted from Poincaré plot, detrended fluctuation of tendency analysis and recurrence plot) and linear indices of HRV in the time (RMSSD e SDNN) and frequency domain (LF, HF, VLF). The tasks consist in games to identify and recognize faces and facial expressions. Behavior and severity of the disease will be evaluated using the Autism Behavior Checklist and the Childhood Autism Rating Scale respectively. Statistical Analysis: to identify differences between moments and protocols two-way analysis of variance will be used along with the Bonferroni post-test or Dunn post-test according to the data distribution. Statistical significance will be set at 5%.
The benefits of breastfeeding are increasingly known of the population and breastfeeding rates in the country have been increasing, but still are below satisfactory to the Ministry of Health (MH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Simple Strategies to guide and support the mother contributes to increasing knowledge about breastfeeding and can have positive impacts on breastfeeding rates.
One of the major challenges faced by researchers working in the field of rehabilitation science is the ability to provide integrative approaches to the use of clinical practice. In this context it becomes increasingly necessary to construct investigative approaches, so that they can reach clinical practice in a shorter period of time, since the large volume of information produced globally does not impact in the short or medium term on new therapeutic recommendations. Among the various chronic painful entities, there is chikungunya fever as a highlight for having a rich clinical chronology in relation to pain. Its therapy is used done by drugs in almost all national and international consensuses, therefore therapy against pain in chikungunya fever is limited during the rehabilitation process. It is very important that the science of rehabilitation enhances methods of noninvasive brain modulation that enable, through the excitation or inhibition of specific cortical areas to produce pain inhibiting effects, providing a simple and low cost treatment to the clinical routine.Technological advances and non-invasive techniques to modulate brain function have been developed, for instance, Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). The objective of the present project is to present the tDCS as a new modality of physical rehabilitation for the patient with chronic pain resulting from chikungunya fever. The purpose of the study is to present physical, behavioral and social results of the application of tDCS in chikungunya fever, suggesting an improvement in the quality of life and functional status of the individual.
The purpose of this study is to determine if treatment with bempedoic acid (ETC-1002) versus placebo decreases the risk of cardiovascular events in participants who have or are at high risk for cardiovascular disease and are statin intolerant.
This study aim to contribute with the investigation of the therapeutic effect of osteopathic manipulative treatment in pain intensity and Quality of Life in individuals diagnosed with temporomandibular disorder who make use of occlusal splints.
The aim of this study is to assess the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation during general anesthesia for robotic surgery, to characterize current practices of mechanical ventilation and to evaluate a possible association between ventilatory parameters and postoperative pulmonary complications.
The judicious use of antibiotics is one of the main measures to limit the emergence of multidrug-resistant pathogen related to excessive antimicrobial use. A recent study demonstrated that C-reactive protein (CRP) was as useful as procalcitonin (PCT) in reducing the time of antibiotic therapy in adult septic patients treated in the ICU setting. Therefore, the present study proposes to compare the time of use of antimicrobials, costs of hospitalization and clinical outcomes of interest among a group of antibiotic therapy guided by serum levels of CRP and a group of therapy based on the best practices of antibiotic therapy (Best Practice).
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of olaparib versus enzalutamide or abiraterone acetate in subjects with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer who have failed prior treatment with a new hormonal agent and have homologous recombination repair gene mutations.
