There are about 6915 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Austria. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To assess the efficacy of 30 mg of BAY1753011, with or without furosemide, versus furosemide alone in patients with heart failure and objective evidence of congestion.
The study product is a Cold Ablation Robot-guided Laser Osteotome (CARLO®) robotic surgery device. It is a device that removes hard tissue such as bone by means laser ablation - it is therefore an alternative to Piezo-Electric osteotomes and/or oscillating saws or other mechanical instruments for bone cutting. In this study, the CARLO device is integrated with a computer-assisted pre-operative planning and intra-operative navigation, and will be used for Patients requiring an orthognathic procedure with a mid-face osteotomy, for whom a procedure plan is defined based on preoperative imaging.
In this trial the investigators want to examine and compare oncological and surgical outcomes of two surgical techniques in a prospective, randomised, single-blind trial. Therefore the investigators are going to include 30 patients with a renal mass who need surgical treatment. When they fulfill the inclusion criteria they get randomised either for robot-assisted partial nephrectomy or laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. Primary endpoint is the oncological outcome (residual tumor classification, TNM classification), secondary endpoints are operation time, time of ischemia, blood loss, pain after surgery, kidney function, complications and hospital stay.
The Electro-Convulsion-Therapy (ECT) is a well accepted treatment option in severe depression. The quality of ECT is evaluated basing on minimal seizure duration (>15sec), the sympathic response and the postictal EEG-suppression. For the treatment general anaesthesia is needed. On the other hand anaesthesia strongly influences the quality of the seizure. The goal is to find an anaesthesia-depth that is needed for the well-being of the patient and allows a good ECT. In daily routine the dose of anesthetic agents and the assesment of anesthesia-depth is based on the subjective estimation of the anesthetist and also on ealier interventions. The aim of the study is to assess any correlation between measured anesthesia-depth using the Narcotrend TM and the Quality of the ECT.
Studies in recent years have demonstrated that the commensal intestinal flora (microbiome) plays a key role in the development of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). An unfavourable microbiom can trigger disease development and progression. On the other hand, recent data show that modulation of the microbiom by a diet can prevent the developement of a NASH. Mechanisms of interaction between nutrition, microbiome, intestine and liver are largely unknown. In this research project, the effect of a fibre-rich oat bran on NASH will therefore be investigated. A better understanding of the interaction between diet, microbiome, intestine and liver could form the basis for new preventive therapies of NASH.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how efficiently the study medication imlifidase reduces the amount of donor specific antibodies (DSA) in comparison with plasma exchange (PE) therapy, in patients who have had an active or chronic active antibody mediated rejection (AMR) after being kidney transplanted. The purpose was also to investigate and compare safety for these two treatments.
This study investigates the intrafractional accuracy of a frameless thermoplastic mask used for head immobilization during stereotactic radiotherapy. Non-invasive masks cannot completely prohibit head movements. Previous studies attempted to estimate the magnitude of intrafractional inaccuracy by means of pre- and postfractional measurements only. However, this might not be sufficient to accurately map also intrafractional head movements. Intrafractional deviation of mask-fixed head positions is measured in five patients during a total of 94 fractions by means of close-meshed repeated ExacTrac measurements conducted during the entire treatment session. From the obtained data the investigators evaluate the need to adjust safety margins around the gross tumor volume (GTV) whenever the investigated thermoplastic mask is used instead of invasive ring fixation.
Post-Market Clinical Follow-up of the new Cor Family ICDs/CRT-Ds (Acticor, Rivacor) and the new Plexa ProMRI S DX right ventricular lead to provide post-market data and supporting evidence for the clinical safety and performance of the devices.
Hyrimoz™ was developed as a biosimilar to HumiraTM (INN: adalimumab) and Zessly™ was developed as a biosimilar to RemicadeTM (INN: infliximab). Within the Biosimilar Development Program of Hyrimoz™ and Zessly™, two clinical confirmatory efficacy and safety studies were conducted: Hyrimoz™ in plaque psoriasis and Zessly™ in rheumatoid arthritis. Both confirmatory Phase III studies demonstrated equivalent efficacy and similar safety and immunogenicity of Hyrimoz™ to HumiraTM and Zessly™ to RemicadeTM, respectively. The current study is designed to provide a systematic and consistent overview of the real-world data in biologic-naïve patients with moderate-to-severe Crohn's disease (CD). The data collected in this observational trial will be used to increase the knowledge of the effectiveness of Hyrimoz™ and Zessly™ in clinical routine care in patients with moderate-to-severe CD.
The study is conducted to improve knowledge about the epidemiology of Lipoprotein(a) in patients with established cardiovascular disease (CVD).
