There are about 6869 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Austria. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The aim of this study is to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of STAR (Stereotactic Antiarrhythmic Radiotherapy) in patients with VT (ventricular tachycardia) who are unresponsive to standard treatments. Additionally, the planned study aims to provide further insights into the effects of STAR on VT burden, ICD interventions, and insights regarding late toxicities, particularly those related to the heart, which are currently not well understood.
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an ultra-rare sarcoma, marked by distinctive molecular and pathological features and with a variable clinical behavior. Its natural history is still partially understood, reliable prognostic and predictive factors are lacking and many questions are still open on the optimal management. In the context of EURACAN, a prospective registry specifically dedicated to EHE was developed and launched with the aim of providing, through high-quality prospective data collection, a better understanding of this disease. The study design is a registry-based cohort study including only new cases of patients with a pathological and molecularly confirmed diagnosis of EHE. The objectives are to improve the understanding of EHE natural history, validate and identify new prognostic and predictive factors, clarify the activity and efficacy of currently available treatment options, describe treatment pattern. It is an hospital-based registry established in centres with expertise in EHE including adult patients with a new pathological and molecularly confirmed diagnosis of EHE starting from the 1st December 2023. The characteristics of each patient in the facility who meets the above-mentioned inclusion criteria will be collected prospectively and longitudinally with follow-up at cancer progression and / or cancer relapse or patient death. The data analyses will include descriptive statistics and analytical analyses. Multivariable Cox's proportional hazards model and Hazard ratios (HR) for all-cause or cause-specific mortality will be used to determine independent predictors of overall survival, recurrence and progression. The registry has been joined by 21 sarcoma reference centers across EU and UK, covering 10 countries. Patients' recruitment started in December 2023. The estimated completion date is December 2033 upon agreement on the achievement of all the registry objectives. The already established collaboration and participation of EHE patient's associations involved in the project will help in promoting the registry and fostering accrual. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of ide-cel with lenalidomide (LEN) maintenance to that of LEN maintenance alone in adult participants with Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma (NDMM) who have achieved a suboptimal response post autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT).
The aim of the presented study is to evaluate ocular blood flow, respectively optic nerve head blood flow in patients with carotid artery stenosis before and after carotid endarterectomy or carotid artery stenting. Additionally, the investigators aim to compare optic nerve head blood flow in patients with CAS and healthy age- and sex-matched control subjects. Furthermore, the investigators intend to evaluate brain tissue oxygenation in patients with carotid artery stenosis before, during and after CEA and carotid artery stenting. Finally, the investigators will assess potential correlations between LSFG and NIRS results in patients with unilateral carotid artery stenosis.
All patients undergoing urological surgery or treatment should receive standardized questionnaires on quality of life, satisfaction, pain and physical recovery. Indication-specific, individual pathways are set up, for example, for patients with localized prostate cancer, benign prostate enlargement, bladder dysfunction or erectile dysfunction. In combination with the clinical data, the PROM data should help to improve the quality of the results and, if necessary, adapt treatment pathways to patient needs.
This study evaluates the clinical prognostic impact (on DFS and OS) of liquid biopsy guided treatment vs. standard of care (physicians choice) in localized pancreatic cancer (despite because of CA 19-9 levels and computed tomography, upfront surgery is recommended by tumor board). ctDNA positive patients will receive neoadjvuant chemotherapy at current gold standard physicians choice instead of upfront surgery, because of assumed high biological risk for early recurrence.
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effects of different meal interventions on cognition (i.e., learning and decision making) and brain activity in healthy participants.
The goal of this observational study is to find out if artificial intelligence (AI) can accurately predict acute coronary syndrome (ACS) using data on white blood cells in adults. The main question it aims to answer is: - Can AI algorithms based on white blood cell data predict ACS with accuracy comparable to that of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn)? Researchers will look at how the AI model's predictions stack up against the standard hs-cTn blood tests to see which is more accurate in diagnosing ACS. Participants in this study will have already had blood tests as part of their usual care. Their previously collected health information and blood test results will be used to help train and test the AI algorithms. Participants will not undergo any new procedures for the study itself.
The aim of this study is to investigate whether differences in taste perception and preference behavior can be attributed to inflammatory processes induced by physical activity. The focus will be on sweet taste and the perception of fat. A non-invasive, observational study design will be used.
The Austrian Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Registry is a prospective, multicenter registry enrolling patients at multiple outpatient clinics across Austria including academic and non-academic centers. Patients will undergo a structured examination process including assessment for symptoms of HCM, past medical history, concomitant medication, family history and the presence of HCM-specific red flags. Furthermore, clinical data derived from electrocardiogram, echocardiography, laboratory analysis, and genetic testing will be collected focusing on a lean variable dictionary and, in addition, specific hypothesis-driven research parameters. All data are entered into an electronic case report form (eCRF) (Phoenix Clinical Trial Management System). In order to perform multicenter analyses, data can be extracted from the eCRF after approval by the steering committee.
