This study will look at how the participants daily life is affected by their heart failure. The study will also look at the change in participants body weight from the start to the end of the study. This is to compare the effect on heart failure symptoms and on body weight in people taking semaglutide (a new medicine) to people taking "dummy" medicine. Participants will either get semaglutide or "dummy" medicine - which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Participants will need to take 1 injection once a week. The study medicine is injected with a thin needle in a skin fold in the stomach area, thigh or upper arm. During the study participants will have talks with the study staff about healthy lifestyle choices including healthy food and physical activity. The study will last for approximately 59 weeks. Participants will have 11 clinic visits and 1 phone call with the study doctor. Women: Women cannot take part if they are pregnant, breast-feeding or plan to become pregnant during the study period.
Background: The emergency of COVID-19, along with the current difficulties in responding to the high demand for vaccines, requests to the scientific community to find alternative treatments based on reuse of drugs as a strategy to prevent the progression of the disease in patients infected with SARS COV 2. Objetive This study aims to evaluate the use of ivermectin in mild-stage patients to increase outpatient discharge and prevent the progression to moderate or severe stages of the disease. Added value of this study We found that an intervention with ivermectin has impacted on the PPS in a population of outpatients care, between the 5th and 9th day. Also, the treatment increased the probability to obtain outpatient discharge, even in the presence of comorbidities. Implications of all available evidence. Research in Context According to the COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines by the NIH, most trials have several limitations. It needs results from adequately powered and well-designed clinical trials to provide evidence-based guidance on the role of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID- 19. However, our study shows overlaps in benefits with other authors, and taking together, these results are encouraging for further study about repurposing ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19.

The present study will be carried out to evaluate the antiallergic efficacy of Bepotastine besilate 1.5% free of preservatives versus standard treatment with 0.2% Olopatadine hydrochloride with 0.1% benzalkonium chloride as preservative in adult patients diagnosed with allergic conjunctivitis. The antiallergic efficacy will be evaluated by the reduction of ocular signs and symptoms and by the resolution of non-ocular symptoms (rhinorrhea, congestion, and nasal pruritus), as well as the effect of the preservative and its relationship with the cytotoxicity of the ocular surface. Also will evaluate the safety of both products.
Anesthesiologists and other professionals are at high risk of viral infection during aerosol-generating procedures. Knowledge of the protective quality of PPE suits and the risk of self-contamination after removal is paramount. This trial used an ultraviolet-fluorescent solution to explore differences in self-contamination after removal of gown PPE (PPE-G) and coverall PPE (PPE-C). A two-period/two-intervention (AB/BA) design was chosen; each intervention consisted of audio-guided placement of PPE, full-body spraying of fluorescent solution, audio-guided removal of PPE, and assessment of self-contamination through ultraviolet light scanning. The primary outcome was the mean within-participant difference (traces of any size) between PPE suits. Statistical significance was tested using t test for paired data.
Acute appendicitis is the most frequent non-obstetric surgical emergency during pregnancy. The benefits of laparoscopy during pregnancy are well known, but complications can occur, and these can affect both the mother and/or the foetus. This study is open to adults with diabetic kidney disease. The purpose of the study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 685509 improves kidney function. Three different doses of BI 685509 are tested in this study. Participants get either one of the three doses of BI 685509 or placebo. It is decided by chance who gets which BI 685509 dose and who gets placebo. Participants take BI 685509 or placebo as tablets 3 times a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 685509 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants continue taking their usual medicine for diabetes and kidney disease throughout the study. Participants are in the study for about 7 months. During this time, they visit the study site about 11 times. Where possible, about 6 of the 11 visits can be done at the participant's home instead of the study site. The trial staff may also contact the participants by phone or video call. Kidney function is assessed based on the analysis of urine samples, which participants collect at home. At the end of the trial the results are compared between the different doses of BI 685509 and placebo. During the study, the doctors also regularly check the general health of the participants.
This prospective, multicountry, multicentre, non-interventional study plans to include patients who have undergone surgery for early-stage (IA to IIIB on the basis of pathologic criteria) non-squamous NSCLC up to 6 weeks prior to enrolment into the study. The main objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of EGFRm in patients with surgically resected early-stage (IA to IIIB) non-squamous NSCLC as there are limited data on its prevalence in this patient population.
