MiCo - Mirena or Conventional Medical Treatment for Menorrhagia

The aim of this prospective, non-interventional post-marketing surveillance study is to obtain data on safety and efficacy of Mirena in treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding (Menorrhagia) under daily-life treatment conditions.For each patient, an initial visit and one to three follow-up visits after about 3, 6 and 12 months will be documented by the treating physician on the case report form. Observations include the patient's demographic parameters (date of birth, height, weight, race and smoking habits), previous contraceptives and menorrhagia treatment, gynaecological history, baseline menstruation, result of insertion, concomitant medications and diseases as well as menorrhagia symptoms. Overall treatment success will be evaluated at the end of treatment including number of weeks until improvement and reduction of menstrual bleeding with respect to duration and severity, and patient's satisfaction.

This study is a prospective, company-sponsored, non-interventional cohort study of up to 5000 patients in European countries and countries in Middle East who are newly prescribed any available OC. Patients will be followed up approximately 6 months after initial visit. Selection of Study Population: Women can be enrolled after decision for treatment with Yasmin or any other OC has been made. Physicians should consult the full prescribing information for the respective OC before enrolling patients and familiarize themselves with the safety information in the product package label.

BONCURE Study: A Study of Monthly Bonviva (Ibandronate) in Women With Post-Menopausal Osteoporosis on Bisphosphonate Therapy.

This single arm study will assess patient preference for monthly Bonviva, versus daily or weekly alendronate or risedronate, in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Patients currently on a daily or weekly regimen of bisphosphonate therapy (alendronate or risedronate) will answer a questionnaire to identify patients who may benefit from a monthly Bonviva regimen. Eligible patients will then discontinue their present bisphosphonate treatment, and switch to monthly Bonviva 150mg po. At the beginning and end of Bonviva treatment, all patients will complete an Osteoporosis Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.
