Filter by:The purpose of the present study is to provide the first in-human safety and efficacy evaluations of systemic oral anti-proliferative Everolimus therapy compared to placebo in patients treated by bare metal stents for significant coronary artery disease. The aim is to reduce Major Adverse Cardiac Events (MACEs) including death, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) to the target vessel, Q-wave and non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, and target lesion revascularization within the first 6 months after intervention. Additionally safety and tolerability of Everolimus at the selected dose in this patient population will be analyzed.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of 6R-BH4 on vascular function in patients with coronary artery disease. We hypothesize that 6R-BH4 will improve vascular function in these patients.
This is a prospective double blind trial of intraoperative transmyocardial bone marrow−derived mesenchymal cell transplantation vs placebo in patients with low left ventricular ejection fraction scheduled to coronary bypass operation.
The aim of this study is to identify genetic loci,or gene variations contributing to inflammation and to the development of CHD. We will compare coronary angiogram results to genetic findings within coronary artery disease patients and in patients with normal coronaries.
The objective of this study is to evaluate an antibiotic therapy called Rifalazil to determine its effect on hardening of the carotid arteries.
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a silent killer that may go undetected for years. It is the leading cause of death with no limitation to geographic boundaries accounting to about 16.7 million deaths world wide. Different studies have shown that South Asians populations are more prone to CAD where it is emerging as an epidemic. According to a study conducted in Karachi it is estimated that the overall prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in Pakistan is 26.9% with 23.7% in men and 30.0% in women. However tools for measuring CAD have not being adequately validated. This study is designed to develop screening tools and to determine test characteristics of Rose Questionnaire and Minnesota Coded ECG alone and in combination for diagnosis of CAD, using MPI as gold standard in Pakistan.
The purpose of this study is to compare levels of clot formation (platelet aggregation), markers of heart muscle damage, and inflammation in two groups undergoing percutaneous coronary stent implantation. The first group will be on a regimen of high-dose clopidogrel used in combination with bivalirudin plus eptifibatide, and the second group will be on a regimen of high-dose clopidogrel with bivalirudin alone. Clinical outcomes will be determined up to one year after enrollment.
The purpose of this study is to determine if Hemopure® will enhance tissue preservation during Cardiopulmonary Bypass surgery.
We seek to examine the effects of folic acid treatment on vascular function in patients with coronary artery disease. Our hypothesis is that folic acid treatment will improve vascular function
This study is a prospective, randomized, single-center evaluation of the Cypher™ Sirolimus eluting coronary stent system in the treatment of de novo bifurcated coronary lesions comparing provisional modified T stenting with systematic modified T-stenting.
