Filter by:This randomized, multi-center, active-controlled, open-label, parallel-group study will investigate the efficacy and safety of biomarker-driven maintenance treatment for first-line mCRC. Participants with mCRC are eligible for entry and cannot have received any prior chemotherapy in the metastatic setting. The entire study duration is anticipated to be approximately 7.5 years.
This study will look at measuring the activity of natural killer (NK) cells using the in vitro diagnostic device NK Vue in subjects being screened for colorectal cancer using colonoscopy. The NK Vue diagnostic test for natural killer cell activity uses the principle of stimulation of whole blood with a proprietary cytokine followed by the quantitative detection of interferon gamma using an immunoassay. NK Vue is intended to be used for the monitoring of the immune status of individuals. Measurement of NK cell activity could be a useful tool for assessing changes in immunosurveillance in patients with conditions or diseases where NK cell activity has been shown to be reduced, such as colorectal cancer.
Conflicting guideline recommendations for screening colonoscopy result due to scant data upon which to develop appropriate recommendations. No previous study has compared the prevalence of advanced adenomas or adenomas (any size) among 40-49 year old individuals with a first degree relative (FDR) with colorectal cancer (CRC) versus 40-49 year old average risk individuals with no family history of CRC. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of colon adenomas in 40-49 year old individuals and identify risk factors associated with the presence of advanced adenomas. This data will provide evidence to determine appropriate colon cancer screening guidelines in 40-49 year old persons with a family history of colon polyps or colorectal cancer.
This local, non-interventional, cohort study of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) will prospectively collect data from standard clinical practice of second-line treatment with chemotherapy plus Avastin (bevacizumab). There will be no additional diagnostic or therapeutic procedures required by this study, apart from those performed in everyday clinical practice for second-line treatment of mCRC in Croatia.
Open- Label, Single Arm Study. To evaluate the safety profile of Orectalip® (oxaliplatin), fluorouracil and leucovorin as adjuvant therapy in the treatment of high-risk stage-Ⅱ colorectal cancer. Primary end point:To evaluate the incidence of grade 0-3 neurosensory symptoms (paresthesia) in the end of study. Other end points:The incidence of Grade 3 or 4 neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, nausea, diarrhea vomiting over the 12 weeks. Safety will be evaluated including vital signs are recorded at all visits.
The efficacy of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors have been demonstrated in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), pancreatic cancer (PC) and colorectal cancer (CRC). Dermatological reactions can cause significant physical and psycho-social discomfort to patients. In the present study, the investigators evaluated the effect of epidermal growth factor (EGF) ointment on EGFR inhibitor-related skin side effects (ERSEs).
This study investigates the activity of a new regimen of treatment for patients with metastatic colorectal carcinoma. This includes a combination of well-known chemotherapy agents and anti-inflammatory agents, when administered orally at low daily doses and without planed brakes (Low Dose Metronomic regimen), in contrast with the conventional and already exhausted regimens of treatment at Maximal Tolerated Doses (MTD) which required pre-planned brakes between treatment days.
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and anti-tumor activity of the triple combination of WNT974, LGX818 and cetuximab in BRAFV600-mutant mCRC with RNF43 mutations or RSPO fusions. The design of this study is based upon the translational and pre-clinical data that suggest that Wnt pathway signals, increased due to RNF43 mutations or RSPO fusions, cooperate with the EGFR and BRAF signals to maintain the growth of BRAFV600 CRCs. Inhibition of these signals with the triple combination of WNT974, LGX818 and cetuximab may result in anti-tumor activity.
This proposed 5-year Redes En Acción research study involves a mixed-methods approach that occurs in two phases across two distinct and diverse HL communities. The RCT involves a 2 X 4 randomized repeated measures design with experimental condition (combined patient navigation [PN] over 3 months with access to LCNS PN services[PNLCNS] vs. a PN only condition) as the between-groups factor, and time-point (baseline/pre-randomization [T1]; post-PNLCNS [about 3-months post-T1; T2], and about 6- [T3] and about 12-months [T4] follow-up post-T2) as the within-groups factor; total follow-up is 15 months. The investigators will compare the effects of the PNLCNS and PN only conditions on QOL and treatment follow-up compliance in 300 (after attrition; n=100, Chicago and n=100, San Antonio) breast, colorectal and prostate HL cancer survivors with no evidence of metastatic disease.
Bronx County, New York is the poorest urban county in the U.S.A., and residents are almost entirely Latino or African American. Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in the Bronx, with morality rates significantly higher than for New York City as a whole. Low-income/minority populations are more likely to be diagnosed with preventable and late-stage cancers than the general population, in part, due to lower screening rates. While research has addressed screening barriers in low-income/minority groups, depression, a common,potentially critical barrier, has received scant attention. Research suggests that depressed women are less likely to engage in cancer screening, especially mammography and Pap testing. The link between mental health and cancer screening is particularly important to address in the Bronx, which has the highest rates of self-reported serious psychological distress (a measure closely related to depression) in New York City. Depression affects almost 1 in 4 minority women, and while minorities often seek help for depression in primary care, primary care depression management often does not meet evidence-based standards. Drawing on the expertise and close collaboration of Bronx medical and social service providers and patient stakeholders, this study will determine whether a collaborative care intervention that addresses both depression and cancer screening needs simultaneously among women ages 50-64 is more effective at improving cancer screening and patient-reported outcomes for women with depression than an existing evidence-based cancer screening intervention alone. To achieve this, the investigators will compare the effectiveness of these two interventions using a randomized controlled trial (RCT). In partnership with six Bronx Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), the investigators will recruit approximately 800 women ages 50-64 who screen positive for depression and are non-adherent with recommended cervical, breast, and/or colorectal cancer screenings. The investigators specific aims are to: 1) compare the impact of the two interventions on patient-reported outcomes, including cancer screening knowledge and attitudes, self-efficacy, depression-related stigma, provider referrals, participation in mental health care, medication adherence, quality of life, satisfaction with care and treatment decisions, and depression; 2) compare the effectiveness of the two interventions in increasing breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening; 3) determine whether reducing depression increases the likelihood that low-income women 50-64 will receive cancer screening; 4) determine whether effectiveness of the two interventions in increasing cancer screening varies according to patient characteristics, such as duration of depression, presence of other chronic conditions, and obesity. This study is designed to increase the investigators understanding of how to enhance primary care systems' ability to improve a range of outcomes related to cancer screening and depression among low-income minority women, and how to best support this population in making cancer-screening decisions.
