Filter by:The investigators hypothesize that intermittent first-line Panitumumab plus FOLFIRI is effective as the same regimen given continuously, in unresectable metastatic RAS and BRAF wild type colorectal cancer patients. Correlative studies on tumor and blood samples could identify potential biomarkers of efficacy and help defining personalized treatment strategy.

The primary objective of the study aims to compare soluble CD154 (CD40L) levels before and after radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) liver metastases. The secondary objectives aims: - to compare soluble CD154 (sCD40-L) levels before and after treatment by RFA or surgery alone in patients with CRC liver metastases; - to study the feasibility and reliability of soluble CD154 (sCD40-L) levels to detect and quantify the induction of immun response in CRC liver metastases patients after RFA; - to study the impact of surgery on plasma soluble CD154 levels; - to study association between CD154 expression level before and after RFA in CRC liver metastases patients and relapses rate at 1 year.

Endogenous breath VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are present in various excreted biological materials (urine, blood, faeces an breath) and their analysis offers a possibility for cancer screening. Some of these VOCs are reversed in the venous blood stream and reach the lung alveoli where some of them are exhaled. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the commonest tumours and is an important cause of cancer-related mortality. Colonoscopy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of CRC. Screening with fecal immunochemical test (FIT) is associated with a 13-18% CRC-mortality reduction. The aim of this study is to review the treatment strategies of locally advanced colorectal cancer and locally recurrent rectal cancer in Västra Götaland during 1995-2016. The aim is to evaluate time trends and outcome both related to morbidity and cancer specific survival, we will also evaluate the results after advanced reconstruction. The study will identify the population using the Swedish ColoRectal Cancer Registry and then the individual patient charts will be reviewed. The data will be collected in a clinical record form covering demography (age, sex, co-morbidity, BMI and diagnoses) as well as treatments strategy, surgical procedures, re-operations, complications, readmissions, hospital stay, stoma formation etc.
This study will test the effectiveness of mailing fecal immunochemical tests (FITs) in increasing colorectal cancer (CRC) screening rates in U.S. adults ages 45-75. We are implementing this study in two age groups, 45-49 years and 50-75 years.
Blood that can be detected in stool via faecal immunochemical testing is a recognised risk factor for the presence of colorectal cancer. There are a number of point of care faecal immunochemical testing devices available. This study is to trial one of these machines into the clinical setting to see if the results are safe and accurate as a 'rule out' test for colorectal cancer. We will be investigating patients that present with symptoms or anaemia to their GP and are referred on the two-week rule pathway to our hospital. It has also been advocated that digital rectal examination (which is part of the routine assessment for a patient presenting to colorectal clinic) provides an opportunity to use a small sample of stool from a gloved finger to perform faecal immunochemical testing. We will be comparing a patient provided sample with a DRE sample on a standard laboratory-based machine.
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of a hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) product, Ananda Hemp Spectrum Gelcaps, on the severity and duration of chemotherapy-induced neuropathy (CIPN) among non-metastatic breast, uterine, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer, and all stages of ovarian cancer in patients who received neoadjuvant or adjuvant therapy that included neurotoxic chemotherapeutic agents.
