NCT ID: NCT05534958 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mild Cognitive Impairment and Dementia

UK Validation of the Automated "AcceXible" Speech Analysis Software

Start date: August 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Dementia, especially dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease, is considered one of the most severe health problems of our time. It is currently known that the disease begins many years before clinical symptoms appear. The sooner the patient is diagnosed, the sooner the patient will be in a position to prevent further deterioration. A recent orientation is the analysis of language in relation to the description of images with a high and varied semantic and emotional content. It can be studied that changes in the description of an image check if these changes are associated with the evolution of a person with probable impairment both in memory and cognitive as well as emotional, psychiatric, behavioral and even in their interaction with environmental factors especially those associated with socialization and loneliness. The present study has the objective of validating a digital method for detection and follow-up of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia in a memory clinic setting.

NCT ID: NCT05529277 Active, not recruiting - Dementia Clinical Trials

Implementing Dementia Care Management Into Routine Care in the Region Siegen-Wittgenstein

RoutineDeCM
Start date: September 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Dementia Care Management (DeCM) is an evidence-based model of care in Germany. It has proven its efficacy and cost-effectiveness. However it has not been implemented into routine care so far. The aim of this trial is to implement Dementia Care Management into routine care in a selected region in Germany and evaluate the process of implementation as well as the effect of Dementia Care Management on participants. Recruited in regular routine care n=60 people with cognitive impairment and/ or their cares will receive Dementia Care Management provided by specifically trained and qualified dementia care managers for 6 months. Data will be assessed and analysed prior to the implementation, immediately after having received the intervention and at a later time point. The effect of the intervention on person-oriented health care outcomes wil be analysed as well as factors associated with that.

NCT ID: NCT05522946 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Cognitive Impairment

Circle Game Collaborative--Freddie the Frog

Start date: February 17, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Families who have children with disabilities experience more challenges in interacting with their children than families who have children without disabilities. This increased level of burden results in higher rates of emotional stress and hardship for those families. Motivated by the idea of making deeper connections between children with disabilities and their parents, our gaming platform is designed around two key concepts - human touch and collaborative play. Using wearable sensors, conductive fabrics, microcontrollers, and wireless communication, our gaming platform will register and interpret "touch" as a way to interface with game apps and the devices they are installed on. In other words, touch is translated into player input. Thus, rather than interact with an iPad directly, children and their parents interact with each other instead. Our platform engages both parents and children with disabilities equally in order to better focus on their shared physical expression. As touch can be registered from any part of the body, our platform can be used with children with any type of disability and allows for both active and passive participation by children with a severe disability.
