Efficacy and Safety Evaluation of EN3348 (Mycobacterial Cell Wall-DNA Complex [MCC]) as Compared With Mitomycin C in the Intravesical Treatment of Subjects With BCG Recurrent/Refractory Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

This is a phase 3 randomized, active-controlled, open-label, multicenter study that will be conducted in approximately 120 investigational sites worldwide. Subjects with either recurrent or refractory NMIBC (Ta high grade, T1 low or high grade, CIS) will be eligible for participation in this study. Refractory disease is defined as evidence of persistent high grade bladder cancer (Ta HG, T1, and/or CIS) at least 6 months from the start of a full induction course of BCG with or without maintenance/re-treatment at 3 months. Recurrent disease is defined as reappearance of disease after achieving a tumor-free status by 6 months following a full induction course of BCG with or without maintenance/re-treatment at 3 months. Subjects with recurrent disease must have recurred within 18 months following the last dose of BCG. Approximately 450 subjects will be randomized. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of intravesical EN3348 as compared with mitomycin C in the treatment of subjects with recurrent or refractory NMIBC. The secondary objective is to evaluate the safety of EN3348 as compared with mitomycin C in the treatment of subjects with BCG recurrent or refractory NMIBC. This study will consist of 4 phases: Screening, Induction, Maintenance and Follow-Up and will be conducted over 3 years.

Phase I Study of Cetuximab With RO4929097 in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

The purpose of this study is to determine if a new drug, RO4929097, can work with cetuximab, a drug already approved for colorectal cancer, to help fight the patient's cancer. Cancers arise as a result of abnormal control of gene expression. One of the pathways that gets abnormally regulated in some cancers is the Notch pathway. RO4929097 is an investigational drug that blocks the activation of the Notch pathway. It is hoped that by blocking this abnormal activation, this drug may be helpful in patients with cancer but the investigators do not yet know if that is true. Cetuximab is an antibody against epidermal growth factor receptor and is known to have activity in metastatic colorectal cancer. Recent studies have shown that people with colorectal cancers that contain a mutation in a gene called K-ras do not benefit from receiving cetuximab. It is unknown if adding RO4929097 to cetuximab would benefit patients who have tumors with this mutation.

Everolimus With or Without Bevacizumab in Treating Patients With Advanced Kidney Cancer That Progressed After First-Line Therapy

This randomized phase III trial studies giving everolimus together with bevacizumab to see how well it works compared to everolimus alone in treating patients with advanced kidney cancer that progressed after first-line therapy. Everolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can interfere with tumor growth by blocking the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Everolimus and bevacizumab may also stop the growth of kidney cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether giving everolimus together with bevacizumab is better than everolimus alone in treating patients with advanced kidney cancer that has progressed after first-line therapy.

The primary objective of this prospective, observational, post-marketing study is to evaluate the patient characteristics, pre-treatment and treatment duration in Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) patients who are candidates for systematic therapy and in whom a decision to treat with Nexavar® has been made under real-life practice settings and approved reimbursement restriction in Taiwan. Therefore, the main objective of the study is to collect data on: Prescription pattern: to determine the factors affecting compliance and duration of treatment with special attention given to education status, demography, disease details, pre-treatment, concomitant medication and other baseline data Nexavar® treatment and efficacy data Adverse events using Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) version 4.0

Erlotinib Hydrochloride and Radiation Therapy in Stage III-IV Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and Neck

RATIONALE: Erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Erlotinib hydrochloride may also make tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x- rays and other types of radiation to kill tumor cells. Giving erlotinib hydrochloride together with radiation therapy may be an effective treatment for patients with head and neck cancer.PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving erlotinib hydrochloride together with radiation therapy works in treating patients with stage III-IV squamous cell cancer of the head and neck.
