Telaprevir Plus Standard of Care (SOC) in HCV Associated Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)

The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if the antiviral combination of telaprevir, pegylated Interferon Alfa 2a (PegIFN alfa-2a) and ribavirin (RBV) can prevent the virus from coming back after the liver transplant. Telaprevir, PegIFN alfa-2a, and RBV are different antiviral drugs that work in combination at different stages of the HCV infection to stop the virus.

Vitamin D3 (Vit D3) Supplementation and T Cell Immunomodulation in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Operative Invasive Ductal Breast Carcinoma

This study is for adult females who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer that includes surgery as part of standard cancer treatment. This is a research study combining Vitamin D (an over the counter medication) with the standard of care (or the established and approved treatment), surgery. Evidence shows that women who are Vitamin D3 deficient have a higher risk of breast cancer and breast cancer recurrence. The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of Vitamin D3 during the treatment period for Stage I-II breast cancer. Screening tests will be done to determine if subjects are eligible to participate in this study. If subjects are eligible and they agree to participate, they will be assigned to one of two groups which will receive different amounts of vitamin D. Subjects will be asked to keep a medication diary. Subjects may remain on treatment for approximately 56 days.

This Phase 2a study will investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of ASONEP™ (sonepcizumab/LT1009) when administered intravenously once a week, every 4 weeks (or cycle), to subjects with refractory renal cell carcinoma (RCC) until the disease progresses. Subjects who have failed 3 prior treatments for RCC including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and/or mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitors or who have tumors that cannot be surgically removed will be eligible for screening.

Viral Oncoprotein Targeted Autologous T Cell Therapy for Merkel Cell Carcinoma

This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best way to give laboratory treated autologous T cells together with aldesleukin and to see how well it works in treating patients with merkel cell carcinoma that has spread from the primary site (place where it started) to other places in the body. Biological therapies, such as cellular adoptive immunotherapy, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop tumor cells from growing. Aldesleukin may stimulate the white blood cells to kill tumor cells. Giving cellular adoptive immunotherapy with aldesleukin may be a better treatment for metastatic merkel cell carcinoma.
