NCT ID: NCT01600807 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Pancreatic Cancer, Metastatic

OSI-906 With Gemcitabine and Erlotinib for Metastatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

OSI-906 is a new drug that may stop cancer cells from growing abnormally. This drug has been used in other research studies and information from those suggests that OSI-906 may help block cell receptors involved in tumor growth. Gemcitabine and erlotinib are used as standard treatment for pancreatic cancer. In this research study, the investigators are looking for the highest dose of OSI-906 that can be given safely in combination with gemcitabine and erlotinib. This dose will then be given together with gemcitabine and erlotinib to a further group of patients with pancreatic cancer.

NCT ID: NCT01604200 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Focus of Study is on Dentist's Attitudes Toward BP Measures

Dental PROBE (Dental Practice suRvey of Office Blood Pressure mEasurement)

Dental-PROBE
Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

20% of Canadians are hypertensive with approximately 200,000 new cases each year. Early detection of hypertension affects outcomes, reducing the risk for heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and dementia. Screening strategies are required to identify the more than one third of Canadians with unrolled high blood pressure, in particular, younger men unaware of their condition, women over sixty years old, and underserved groups. A collaborative practice model linking dentists to other healthcare providers in a reporting network is a promising model for hypertension detection and management. There are 20,129 licensed dentists in Canada who graduate with the ability to measure blood pressure, and 74% of the population visits a dentist each year. This represents an opportunity, but information is required on Dental attitudes toward screening for hypertension before attempting to initiate a screening model. To engage dentists in hypertension detection requires an understanding of the practice environment and the factors that shape their beliefs, attitudes and behaviours regarding routine hypertension screening in their practices.

NCT ID: NCT01606358 Withdrawn - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Influence of Chemotherapy on Gamma-delta T Cells in Patients With Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

IClyCO
Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

In patients with an ovarian cancer, the treatment is currently based on surgery and chemotherapy. The impact of chemotherapy on the expansion and functional abilities of Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cells has never been evaluated. The long term goal is to give a rational to combine conventional treatment of ovarian cancer with immunotherapy based on Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cells.

NCT ID: NCT01609439 Withdrawn - Hypocalcemia Clinical Trials

Preoperative Vitamin D for Post-thyroidectomy Hypocalcemia

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if pre-operative vitamin D supplementation lowers the incidence of post-operative transient or permanent hypoparathyroidism in patients undergoing total thyroidectomy.

NCT ID: NCT01614288 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Medial Compartment Osteoarthritis of the Knee

High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO) With or Without Arthroscopy of the Knee Joint

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Participants will be randomized to undergo a High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO) with or without a knee scope. Patients will be tested in the Gait Lab, will fill out quality-of-life questionnaires, and have a clinical evaluation done preoperative and at each follow-up visit.

NCT ID: NCT01637168 Withdrawn - Memory Deficit Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Panax Ginseng + Associations to Ginkgo Biloba in the Treatment of Cognitive Function Disorders

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two different drugs in the treatment of patients diagnosed with memory difficulties and a decline in cognitive function. This is a parallel distribution: a group of patients will be treated with a combination Panax Ginseng + Ginkgo Biloba + multivitamin + Polyminerals (EMS), and another group with Ginkgo Biloba (Tebonin ®).

NCT ID: NCT01637571 Withdrawn - Chest Pain Clinical Trials

Dexilant Treatment in Gastrointestinal Reflux Disease (GERD Related Non Cardiac Chest Pain

Dexilant
Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate a new treatment for non-cardiac chest pain (NCCP) related to gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), called Dexilant. The investigators would like to test its effectiveness in treating NCCP. The patient will undergo esophageal balloon distention testing (EBDT) before and after taking the new treatment for one month (Dexilant). EBDT evaluates the sensation and mechanical properties of the esophagus. A catheter with a deflated balloon is placed through the mouth and into the esophagus and the balloon is inflated with water. ECG and labs will be done throughout the study as a measurement of safety.

NCT ID: NCT01645007 Withdrawn - Hepatitis B Clinical Trials

Prevalence of Hepatitis B Infection in the Galilee Region, Israel

Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Primary Aims: 1. Evaluate HBV (Hepatitis B Virus) infection prevalence among Druze in the Galilee. 2. Educate the population in order to reduce transmission 3. Increase awareness among primary care providers Secondary Aims: 1. Identify chronic HBV infected patients who need to be followed and treated, 2. Identify HBV infected women in a childbearing age 3.
