Robotic pancreatoduodenectomy is the most complex surgery for a general surgeon and consequently a pancreatic surgeon can aspire to. Due to the close proximity of the pancreas to the large vessels, great skill and experience in the field of pancreatic surgery, robotic surgery and also vascular surgery is essential. The ability to predict the depth of robotic pancreatoduodenectomy in each individual patient would be extremely important, for patient selection and for the implementation of the learning curve. This study aims to provide a difficulty score (DS) for robotic pancreatoduodenectomy to be used to select cases based on the experience and expertise of the surgeon.
Caudal block is an easy and effective type of central neuraxial block that is widely used in subumbilical surgeries to provide intraoperative and postoperative analgesia in the pediatric population. Caudal block application with ultrasound (USG) was first applied in 2003. Sacrum, sacral cornular, sacrococcygeal ligament and sacral hiatus can be easily distinguished by ultrasound. The probe is positioned in a horizontal midline position on the lower sacrum. Sacral roots within the caudal epidural space can be seen as hypoechoic ellipses. In addition, anatomical variations of the sacral hiatus and the process area can be clearly observed. A accurate probe use with ultrasound guided is confirmed by advancing the caudal needle in the desired direction, widening in the sacral hiatus with local anesthetic injection, and the turbulence observed during injection into the sacral canal if the color doppler feature is used. Thus, a decrease in complications and an increase in the success of the procedure can be achieved with simultaneous imaging. In addition, in cases where the block is difficult, the in-plane technique can be preferred in the midline plane. The aim of this study is to compare the success rates and postoperative pain levels of caudal block applications with the out of plane technique (probe applied by holding horizontal) and in-plane technique (probe applied vertically), which is routinely applied with ultrasound in pediatric hypospadias surgery.
This is an external control, observational, retrospective study designed to compare clinical outcomes for pralsetinib compared with best available therapy for patients with RET-fusion positive advanced NSCLC.
The probiotics supplementation seems to be safety way to optimize the intestinal microbiota composition and thus modulate the immune system and reduce oxidative stress. Moreover it may enhance muscle protein synthesis, mitochondrial biogenesis and function, as well as muscle glycogen storage. Probiotics intake via reduce inflammatory markers and reactive oxygen species production may attenuate macromolecules damage and have some beneficial effect on aerobic and anaerobic performance. The combined probiotics and vitamin D supplementation may enhance this effect. The synergistic intestinal microbiota and vitamin D interaction towards muscle protein synthesis and mitochondrial function improvement may be manifested by mTOR and FOXO signaling influence on oxidative stress as well as immunological functions modulation. In the study investigators will assess if multistrain probiotic mixture in conjunction with vitamin D may have beneficial effect on sport performance among trained male mixed-martial arts athletes. The study protocol is designed as a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial. Researchers are going to evaluate changes in the gut, including microbiome composition and epithelial permeability; differences in the blood parameters as well as direct influence on sport performance, expressed by anaerobic and aerobic fitness capacity. Researchers will provide an evidences, having both theoretical as well as practical aspect.
The primary objective of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of ultrasound as a treatment for Obsessive Compulsive disorder.
The Investigators aim to evaluate the effectiveness of dry needling treatment in addition to stretching exercises on cramp duration, cramp intensity, cramp frequency, sleep quality, and sensitivity of myofascial trigger points in patients with nocturnal calf cramp.
Women with the eating disorder bulimia nervosa (BN) have been found to have a higher risk of unplanned pregnancies than healthy women, and experience greater miscarriage, premature birth, birth complications, and postpartum depression. Other studies have found that women with eating disorders seem to find motivation to refrain from the eating disordered behavior for the sake of the fetus, but that it is highly different whether this gives sustained or only a temporary remission. Eating disorders are rarely detected in the primary health care service, nor during pregnancy or during follow-up in fertility clinics. Meeting a health care provider in the pregnancy care service who does not know about the eating disorder or who does not understand the disease well enough, can also make the management and experience of pregnancy and weight gain extra difficult. The aim of this study is to increase the knowledge on how women with a history of eating disorder experience their bodily changes, and how they experience the health service in pregnancy care and post-partum period.
Assess the Safety, Pharmacodynamics, and Efficacy of EXP039 Ophthalmic Solution in Participants with Myopia or Hyperopia
To identify the related factors for anterior tibial subluxation (ATS) on anterior cruciate ligament-injured MRI images.
Recruit adult patients eligible for cochlear Implant surgery. During routine surgery monitor electrode placement with new 'SCINSEV' technique and complete 'PECAPs' on patient to identify if any of the electrodes have misplaced. Follow up with patient after surgery for post operative appointment with same measurements.
