Intervening on Women's Health for Rural Young Breast Cancer Survivors

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a multi-component intervention to improve young breast cancer survivors' engagement in goal-concordant oncofertility care, concurrently with observing and gathering information on how the intervention is implemented. The investigators hypothesize that implementation of the intervention will result in increased young breast cancer survivors' engagement in goal-concordant oncofertility care.

Impact of Sleep Disturbance on Cognition and Quality of Life in Breast Cancer

Patients treated for breast cancer frequently complain of sleep disturbances, about 40% of them. Of the sleep disturbances experienced by patients, insomnia is the most common complaint. The prevalence of insomnia complaints is higher in breast cancer patients compared to other types of cancer, and is also higher than in the general population (between 20% and 70% in breast cancer patients vs 30% in the general population). A recent study indicates that sleep complaints concern 25% of patients even before diagnosis, and 46% (including 18% complaining of insomnia) at the time of diagnosis, showing the negative impact of the announcement of the pathology on the subjective quality of sleep, and particularly on symptoms suggestive of insomnia. However, objective information on a modification of sleep patterns in breast cancer remains scarce and does not allow us to conclude. In particular, previous studies have focused only on the effects of chemotherapy and have not always included a control group, limiting the significance of their results. The links with cognitive and psychopathological processes and the underlying mechanisms are not clearly demonstrated in this pathology. Finally, taking into account patients' complaints, it appears necessary to limit sleep disorders in breast cancer in order to improve patients' quality of life using non-medicinal and easy-to-implement approaches.

Tonation Breathing Technique Method to Ease Aromatase Inhibitor-induced Joint and/or Muscle Pain

This clinical trial evaluates how well tonation breathing techniques (use of a breathing and tonation [creating sounds]) works to ease pain joint and/or muscle pain in patients with stage I-III breast cancer and currently take an aromatase inhibitor. Tonation breathing techniques may help relieve pain in patients with stage I-III breast cancer who are receiving aromatase inhibitor.

A Study of an Alternative Treatment Approach (Preoperative Radiotherapy, Then Mastectomy, Then Immediate Reconstruction Surgery) in People With T4 Breast Cancer

The purpose of this study to test an alternative treatment approach that involves giving participants radiotherapy before their mastectomy (preoperative radiotherapy) and performing immediate reconstruction surgery at the time of mastectomy. The immediate reconstruction surgery is called an immediate autologous reconstruction (IR) and is different than the standard reconstruction surgery people with T4 breast cancer have. IR is a surgical procedure where immediately following your mastectomy, the surgeon takes tissue from another part of your body and uses it to re-create your breast. The standard reconstruction surgery occurs later and can be done with an implant or tissue from your body. The main purpose of this study to find out if the alternative treatment approach shown above is feasible. The study will see how safe this alternative treatment approach is compared with the standard treatment approach.

LobularCard Trial: Searching for Novel Germline Mutations in Lobular Breast Cancer Patients

This is a cross-sectional and retrospective study of a cohort of patients with invasive lobular breast cancer (LBC) or in situ lobular neoplasia (LIN3). The main endpoint is the relative frequency of patients with a germline mutation using a recent panel including 113 genes from the "Illumina" protocol. In case of identification of a novel pathogenetic germline mutations, a personalized follow-up will be offered to each patient (in case of genes at moderate-, low-penetrance), or prophylactic mastectomy (in case of genes at high-penetrance). Breast screening in moderate-, low-penetrance mutated patients should be performed periodically using digital mammography, ultrasound and MRI, and will be routinely observed. Patients will be scheduled for follow-up at six-month intervals for 5 years at our outpatient clinic, and yearly thereafter

Self-administered Acupressure to Improve Cancer-related Fatigue Among Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy

The primary aim of the study is to determine whether self-administered acupressure has effects equivalent to aerobic exercise on CRF in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Secondary outcomes include sleep disturbance (self-reported and objective), activity levels (self-reported and objective), quality of life (QoL), cognitive impairment, return to work, chemotherapy completion, and adherence to the intervention. This will be a prospective, assessor-blind, parallel group randomized controlled trial (RCT) that will strictly follow the CONSORT guidelines. A total of 138 patients aged 18 or above with a diagnosis of breast cancer scheduled to commence their first cycle of outpatient adjuvant chemotherapy will be recruited and randomized into self-administered acupressure and aerobic exercise groups. The hypothesis of this study is self-administered acupressure and aerobic exercise demonstrate equivalent effects on CRF. The acupressure arm comprises of a one-on-one, 90-min instructional session and a 1-hour follow-up visit by a trained Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, and self-practice for 12 weeks. The exercise arm consists of a one-on-one, 90-min instructional session and a 1-hour follow-up visit by a trained exercise specialist, and self-practice for 12 weeks. Participants will be instructed to maintain self-practice after the intervention. Intention-to-treat analysis will be performed.

A Study to Compare the Effectiveness of Two Types of Ultrasound Technologies in Women Who Have Had Breast Cancer

This clinical trial evaluates automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) and handheld ultrasound (HHUS) for the screening of women who have undergone breast reconstruction after breast cancer. Ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves to create pictures of internal organs and tissues. ABUS has been found to be equal to HHUS for whole breast screening, but no data exist on its use for screening of reconstructed patients. This clinical trial evaluates the feasibility of using ABUS versus HHUS to screen women who have undergone reconstruction.
