NCT ID: NCT03139435 Completed - Clinical trials for Stage IV Breast Cancer

Ultrasound in Detecting Taxane-Induced Neuropathy in Patients With Breast Cancer

Start date: May 11, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This pilot clinical trial studies how well ultrasound works in detecting taxane-induced neuropathy in patients with breast cancer. Ultrasound may work better in diagnosing and detecting neuropathy in breast cancer patients treated with the chemotherapy drug called a taxane.

NCT ID: NCT03137693 Terminated - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Preoperative Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR) for Early-Stage Breast Cancer

Start date: November 29, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study involves a course of radiation to the tumor that is delivered BEFORE surgery. The type of radiation is called stereotactic ablative body radiation therapy (SABR). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects, good and/or bad, of pre-operative SABR specifically focusing on its ability to reduce the chances that additional breast surgery will be needed, reducing the amount of breast/heart/lung tissue that is irradiated, and to study the tumor-tissue effects of SABR. The usual treatment for patients with early-stage breast cancer who have breast-conserving treatment (BCT) is to receive radiotherapy AFTER surgery, targeting either the whole breast or part of the breast.

NCT ID: NCT03137368 Enrolling by invitation - CYP2D6 Polymorphism Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate Exemestane Tablets Combined With Ovarian Function Suppression/Ablation in Treatment of Premenopausal Breast Cancer Patients With CYP2D6*10 Mutations (STEP)

STEP
Start date: August 9, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel, active-controlled superiority clinical study conducted in early premenopausal estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer patients with CYP2D6*10 mutations. The efficacy and safety of Exemestane Tablets combined with ovarian function suppression/ablation and Tamoxifen Tablets combined with ovarian function suppression/ablation in the treatment of early premenopausal estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer patients with CYP2D6*10 mutations are compared.

NCT ID: NCT03137095 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Breast Cancer Female

Effects of Chemotherapy on Cognitive Function in Breast Cancer Patients & Non-Cancer Control Subjects With Optional Sub-Study Research Brain MRI

Start date: February 20, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Study is enrolling newly diagnosed breast cancer patients about to start chemotherapy and age-matched control participants. The investigator is trying to better understand the prevalence of cognitive difficulties in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy compared to the general population as well as what biological mechanisms may play a role in the development of these difficulties. Patients will be asked to complete six assessments over the course of approximately 5 months. Assessments 1,3, 4.5 and 5 include computerized and paper and pencil cognitive testing as well as blood draws. Assessments 2 and 4 only involve the collection of a blood sample. An optional sub study is offered after Assessment 1. It involves a research brain MRI at Assessment 4.5 and cognitive testing and another research brain MRI at Assessment 6.

NCT ID: NCT03136367 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

What Matters Most: Choosing the Right Breast Cancer Surgery for You

Start date: September 18, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

What Matters Most is a study that aims to determine how best to help women of lower socioeconomic status make high-quality decisions about early stage breast cancer treatments. What Matters Most will be comparing two decision aids used in the clinic visit to usual care (what normally happens in the clinic). The first decision aid (Option Grid) presents evidence-based information about lumpectomy and mastectomy in a tabular format using text only. The second decision aid (Picture Option Grid) presents evidence-based information about lumpectomy and mastectomy using pictures, pictographs and simplified text. What Matters Most aims to show that the interventions can reduce disparities in decision-making and treatment choice between women of high and low SES.

NCT ID: NCT03135951 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Pharmacokinetics of SPI-2012 (Eflapegrastim) in Breast Cancer Patients Receiving Docetaxel and Cyclophosphamide (TC) Chemotherapy

Start date: May 11, 2017
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of a fixed dose of SPI-2012 in patients with early-stage breast cancer receiving docetaxel and cyclophosphamide (TC) chemotherapy, as measured by the serum concentration of SPI-2012 on specific days following drug administration.

NCT ID: NCT03135782 Completed - Tobacco Use Clinical Trials

Provider Training in Increasing Patient Tobacco Cessation Counseling and Referrals for Patients With Cancer Undergoing Radiation Therapy

Start date: August 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This pilot clinical trial studies how well provider training works in increasing patient tobacco cessation counseling and referrals for patients with cancer undergoing radiation therapy. Health care provider training in motivational interviewing techniques and utilizing tobacco cessation resources may help doctors understand how health care providers can effectively increase their confidence in talking to patients about tobacco cessation counseling.

NCT ID: NCT03135171 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab in Combination With Tocilizumab in Subjects With Metastatic HER2 Positive Breast Cancer Resistant to Trastuzumab

Start date: July 26, 2017
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The goal in this Phase 1 dose-escalation trial of the anti-IL-6R monoclonal antibody tocilizumab in combination with trastuzumab and pertuzumab in subjects with metastatic HER2 positive breast cancer is to determine the safety, tolerability and recommended Phase 2 dose of tocilizumab given with trastuzumab and pertuzumab every 3 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT03133988 Approved for marketing - Clinical trials for HER2-positive Breast Cancer

Margetuximab Expanded Access Program

Start date: n/a
Phase:
Study type: Expanded Access

The purpose of the Expanded Access program is to provide margetuximab to patients with pretreated HER2+ breast cancer for whom potential benefit justifies potential treatment risks.

NCT ID: NCT03132467 Completed - Clinical trials for Anatomic Stage III Breast Cancer AJCC v8

Durvalumab and Tremelimumab Before Surgery in Treating Patients With Hormone Receptor Positive, HER2 Negative Stage II-III Breast Cancer

Start date: June 13, 2017
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This early phase I trial studies the side effects of durvalumab and tremelimumab before surgery in treating patients with hormone receptor positive, HER2 negative stage II-III breast cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab and tremelimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
