Phase II, multicenter, single arm trial to assess the feasibility of first line ribociclib in combination with a non steroidal aromatase inhibitor in women or men aged 70 years-old or older, with hormone receptor positive/HER2 negative advanced breast cancer
This phase I/II trial studies the effects (good and bad) of adding copanlisib to the usual therapy of fulvestrant and abemaciclib in treating patients with hormone receptor positive and HER2 negative breast cancer that has spread from where it first started (breast) to other places in the body (metastatic). Some breast cancer cells have receptors for the hormones estrogen or progesterone. These cells are hormone receptor positive and they need estrogen or progesterone to grow. This can affect how the cancer is treated. Hormone therapy using fulvestrant may fight breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the tumor cells. Abemaciclib and copanlisib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Adding copanlisib to the usual therapy of fulvestrant and abemaciclib may work better than giving fulvestrant and abemaciclib alone in treating patients with breast cancer.
This trial studies treatment effects on development of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients with cancer. Treatments for cancer can cause a problem to the nervous system (called peripheral neuropathy) that can lead to tingling or less feeling in hands and feet. Studying certain risk factors, such as age, gender, pre-existing conditions, and the type of treatment for cancer may help doctors estimate how likely patients are to develop the nerve disorder.
Preference studies reveal how individuals trade-off the potential benefits, harms and inconveniences of a treatment by determining the minimum benefits they judge sufficient to make the treatment worthwhile. They are especially relevant to adjuvant therapies where individuals must weigh up modest survival benefits only realized in time by no recurrence of their cancer with side effects predominantly experienced whilst on the treatment. Previously it was reported, for example, that over 50% of women who had adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer judged a 1% improvement in 5 year survival rates sufficient to make it worthwhile. Larger survival benefits were required for longer duration adjuvant hormonal therapy where over 50% of women required at least 5% improvement in 5 year survival rates to make it worthwhile.
This is an RCT pilot study to explore the potential effects of the Guided Imagery & Music method for women with breast or gynecologic cancer, during active treatment. The study explores the potential impact in quality of life parameters such as mood, fatigue, and hope.
The objective of this hybrid effectiveness-implementation study is to examine the effects of an EHR-based cardiovascular health assessment tool (AH-HA) among breast, prostate, colorectal, endometrial, and Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer survivors (N=600) receiving survivorship care in community oncology practices, using a group-randomized trial design (6 intervention practices and 6 usual care practices). Our central hypothesis is that the AH-HA tool will increase (1) cardiovascular health (CVH) discussions among survivors and oncology providers, (2) referrals and visits to primary care and cardiology (care coordination), and (3) cardiovascular (CV) risk reduction and health promotion activities compared to usual care.
This is a phase III clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SHR6390 in combination with Fulvestrant versus placebo combined with Fulvesrant in Patients who have HR positive and HER2 negative recurrent/metastatic breast cancer and have received prior endocrine therapy are eligible for study.
This phase III trial studies how well axillary reverse mapping works in preventing lymphedema in patients with breast cancer undergoing axillary lymph node dissection. Axillary reverse mapping may help to preserve the lymph node drainage system around the breast so as to prevent lymphedema after surgery.
