A Study of Diarrhea and Intestinal Flora Changes Caused by Pyrotinib in Breast Cancer

By measuring the intestinal flora abundance and bacterial count of patients in the early stage of using pyrotinib to clarify the relationship between diarrhea caused by pyrotinib and changes in intestinal flora in breast cancer patients, the correlation between the change of intestinal flora and the relief of diarrhea are also explored after two-cycle treatment.

CD40 Agonist, Flt3 Ligand, and Chemotherapy in HER2 Negative Breast Cancer

This research study is being done to find out if the immunotherapy drugs called CDX-301 and CDX-1140 in combination with the standard chemotherapy treatment pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD, Doxil) are safe and effective at controlling the cancer in patients with metastatic triple Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer, and to determine a safe dose and treatment schedule of the three drugs. This research study will also test how your immune system responds to these treatments alone and in combination.

Efficacy of Preparation in Self-Hypnosis by Anchoring Versus Conversational Hypnosis, Used Alone or Combined, in Patients Undergoing Breast Macrobiopsies

The incidence of breast cancer and its mortality are reduced thanks in particular to early detection. Often performed after a screening test, stereotactic macrobiopsies are used to characterize abnormalities detected on mammography. This anxiety-inducing and painful examination leads to significant physiological and psychological modifications for these women who logically apprehend the realization of this act. Faced with this observation, investigators wondered what could be done to improve the experience of the patients during this examination. Investigators were interested in hypnosis because its effectiveness as a complementary practice has been validated by numerous studies with benefits on pain and stress management. However, today, there are no convincing results confirming which hypnosis method would be the best to manage patients' anxiety and pain during this examination.

This will be a single arm, open label pilot to test the combination of dapagliflozin, a commercially available SGLT-2 inhibitor, in combination with alpelisib + fulvestrant in patients with HR+/HER2- mBC. The objective of this study is to determine if the addition of dapagliflozin to the combination of alpelisib and fulvestrant leads to significant reduction in all-grade hyperglycemia.

Metformin and Nightly Fasting in Women With Early Breast Cancer

This phase IIb trial studies the combined effect of prolonged nightly fasting and metformin hydrochloride extended release in decreasing breast tumor cell proliferation and other biomarkers of breast cancer. Preventing invasive breast cancer or DCIS. Metformin is widely used to treat type II diabetes and is associated with a decreased risk of cancer and death in diabetic individuals. Intermittent fasting may protect cancer patients from the toxic effects of chemotherapy agents without causing chronic weight loss. The combination of intermittent fasting and metformin may reduce breast cancer growth and may be used in women at risk for breast cancer or other cancers associated with being overweight.

SPEAR is a non-interventional / observational, prospective, multicenter study planned to be conducted across ~ 30 sites in India, among HR-positive and HER2-negative ABC/MBC patients. This being a non-interventional study, no investigational drug or intervention will be administered as a part of the study participation. All the therapeutic decisions, as well as the type and timing of disease monitoring, laboratory tests or medical procedures will be at the discretion of the treating physician and upon patient's consent. No visits will be scheduled as a part of this non-interventional study, however, data by visits for variables will be collected for all the enrolled patients.

Microbiome and Association With Implant Infections

The most common tissue expander-related infections are from Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas species. In addition, from breast tissue microbiome studies, Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas show variable abundance across samples. The investigator hypothesizes that participants undergoing mastectomy with high initial abundance of Staphylococcus and/or Pseudomonas are more likely to develop subsequent tissue expander-related infections from these respective organisms.

Investigating the Long-term Cardiac Sequelae of Trastuzumab Therapy

The introduction of trastuzumab for the treatment of patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) positive breast cancer has had a major impact upon cancer outcomes. However, cardiac toxicity remains a substantial concern. Conventionally, this toxicity has been considered as a transient and reversible phenomenon occurring in the immediate peri-treatment period in around 20% of patients. Current guidelines recommend monitoring heart function during treatment and at completion. Recent registry data suggest that trastuzumab-related cardiotoxicity may also manifest in the longer-term. The nature and longer-term prevalence of left ventricular dysfunction with HER2 positive breast cancer treated with trastuzumab is unclear. The aim of this project is to define the prevalence of left ventricular dysfunction late after completion of trastuzumab therapy.
