Filter by:The purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Utidelone plus AC versus Docetaxel plus AC as neoadjuvant chemotherapy in high-risk HER2-negative early-stage or locally advanced breast cancer. In this phase III, multi-center, open-label, randomized controlled study, 552 subjects will be enrolled and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either the Utidelone plus AC group or the docetaxel plus AC group, stratified by hormone receptor status (ER and/or PgR positive vs ER and PgR negative).
IBISCO TRIAL is a phase II trial aimed to demonstrate the improvement of pathological complete response (pCR) in Luminal B breast cancer (BC) patients treated with stereotactic radiation therapy (SBRT) as an anticipated boost associated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). As a secondary objective, histochemical and molecular analysis of the tumour and the inflammatory microenvironment will be performed.
This phase I trial tests the safety, side effects, and best dose of ASTX727 when given in combination with a usual approach of treatment with paclitaxel and pembrolizumab in patients with triple-negative breast cancer that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). The usual approach is defined as care most people get for this type of cancer. The usual approach for patients with metastatic triple negative breast cancer who are not in a study is chemotherapy with drugs like paclitaxel, carboplatin, cisplatin, eribulin, vinorelbine, capecitabine, gemcitabine, doxorubicin or cyclophosphamide. There is a protein called PD-L1 that helps regulate the body's immune system. For patients who have PD-L1+ tumors, immunotherapy (pembrolizumab) is usually added to paclitaxel or carboplatin/gemcitabine as initial treatment. For patients who have PD-L1-negative tumors, chemotherapy alone is used, without immunotherapy. ASTX727 is a combination of two drugs, decitabine and cedazuridine. Cedazuridine is in a class of medications called cytidine deaminase inhibitors. It prevents the breakdown of decitabine, making it more available in the body so that decitabine will have a greater effect. Decitabine is in a class of medications called hypomethylation agents. It works by helping the bone marrow produce normal blood cells and by killing abnormal cells in the bone marrow. Paclitaxel is in a class of medications called antimicrotubule agents. It stops tumor cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving ASTX727 with usual treatment approach with paclitaxel and pembrolizumab may be able to shrink or stabilize the tumor for longer than the usual approach alone in patients with metastatic triple negative breast cancer.
This clinical trial tests how well phytocannabinoids (cannabidiol [CBD] and tetrahydrocannbinol [THC]) work in reducing chronic chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in breast and colon cancer survivors. Neuropathy is the most common neurological symptom reported by cancer patients due to treatment. A variety of pharmacologic treatments have been evaluated to alleviate CIPN symptoms; however, no definitive treatment has been found to successfully treat all the symptoms of CIPN. Therefore, investigators continue to seek other possible treatment options including cannabis. Phytocannabinoids may be a particularly useful intervention for cancer patients given the limited effective treatments for CIPN. In addition, cannabis-based medicines have become tremendously popular as both cancer patients and clinicians are seeking therapies with fewer potential risks of dependency and other side effects. This trial is being done to provide cancer patients and clinicians with reliable information to help guide their use of phytocannabinoids to manage the tremendous distress and pain experienced by many cancer patients, which impacts their long-term quality of life.
The study is being conducted to evaluate the Opportune Administration of Nab-paclitaxel in the First Line Treatment Strategy, Camrelizumab and Famitinib with/without Nab-paclitaxel, of Patients with Unresectable Locally Advanced or Metastatic Immunomodulatory Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
Breast cancer is the commonest malignancy among females and one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Many drugs have been developed over the years to try to extend survival among these patients including cyclin dependant kinase inhibitors. Cyclin dependant kinase inhibitors (CDK inhibitors) mainly Palbociclib (PAL), ribociclib (RIB) and abemaciclib (ABM) are approved for treatment of hormone receptor positive, HER2 negative advanced breast cancer in the 1st line and subsequent lines in combination with aromatase inhibitors or fulvestrant. Studies showed that they extend progression free survival and recently they showed overall survival benefit. In this study investigators compare Palbociclib+ fulvestrant VS Ribociclib + fulvestrant as a second line treatment in metastatic ER+ve her2 -ve BC in oncology center mansoura university egyptian patients.
To learn whether a new imaging technology, Contrast-Enhanced Mammography (CEM), compared to standard mammography, can better detect breast cancers in women with dense breasts
The research sample consisted of 60 individuals, including the intervention group (n=30) and the control group (n=30), who received treatment at the Oncology Center of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Practice and Research Hospital. Personal Information Form, Pain Intensity Measurement-Visual Analog Scale, Rhodes nausea, vomiting and retching index, Beck Anxiety Inventory, FACT-G Quality of Life Scale were applied to the research data. Toxicity Rating Scale total score was recorded from the patient file. Within the scope of the research, a chemotherapy session for 10 weeks (5 sessions) with an interval of two weeks was made by the art expert of the art of marbling, accompanied by a ney concert. No intervention was made in the control group. Within the scope of the research, scale forms will be applied to both groups in the first interview, in the 3rd and 5th chemotherapy sessions of the patients. The data obtained from the study were uploaded to the SPSS (22.0) program and statistical evaluation was made.
The goal of the experiment is surgical de-escalation. Patients with newly diagnosed cT1-3, cN1, cM0 and HR+, HER2- breast cancer and low clinical risk usually first receive breast cancer surgery, after which chemotherapy can be added based on the final anatomopathological results or additional Gene Expression Profiling (GEP) testing. Chemotherapy helps reduce the cancer recurrence or metastasis risk. Adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) can be given for large tumours, aggressive tumours with high grade tumour cells, or if axillary lymph node invasion is discovered during surgery. If the investigators were able to identify patients requiring chemotherapy prior to surgery, they could treat them with Neo-Adjuvant Chemotherapy (NAC) instead. By using MammaPrint® GEP, the investigators would be able to stratify patients into either a low- or high-risk category. Since the high-risk group is known to benefit from chemotherapy to improve overall survival, they would be treated with NAC, which could also potentially lead to surgical de-escalation. Breast conserving procedures, such as a lumpectomy instead of a mastectomy, could allow more aesthetically pleasing results and increase patient quality of life. Using NAC for patients with axillary lymph node invasion could lead to nodal complete pathological response (cN1 -> ypN0), allowing patients that are willing to enter the TADANAC trial a lymph node sparing procedure instead of a full axillary lymph node dissection.
The reduction in the number of fractions in radiotherapy is especially attractive in several senses, and even more so considering breast cancer, which has a high incidence and generally favorable prognosis. Thus, as a reference Institution, the investigators intend to start the treatment of selected patients with a radiotherapy scheme of 26 Gy / 5 fractions in one week, in a controlled manner, through this project.The investigators consider the moment extremely propitious to start the study, as in addition to having the first publication of a large randomized study, proving the effectiveness and safety of the strategy, the investigators will be able to benefit more patients and the health system itself by minimizing the daily visits of these patients at the hospital.
