Filter by:This study will investigate the efficacy and safety of tanezumab 5 mg and 10 mg administered by subcutaneous injection seven times at 8 week intervals (56 weeks). The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of tanezumab 10 mg and 5 mg compared to placebo for the treatment of chronic low back pain. Secondary objectives are to evaluate the long-term safety and effectiveness of tanezumab 10 mg and 5 mg compared to placebo for the treatment of chronic low back pain. In addition, the study will evaluate the effectiveness and long term safety profile of tanezumab treatment for chronic low back pain compared to tramadol Prolonged Release (PR), a medication commonly utilized for the treatment of chronic low back pain.
The purpose of the current randomized clinical trial was to analyze the effectiveness of craniosacral therapy on disability, pain intensity, kinesiophobia, quality of life, isometric endurance of trunk flexor muscles, mobility, and oxygen saturation, blood pressure, cardiac index, and biochemical estimation of interstitial fluid in individuals with chronic low back pain.
Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a prevalent condition among VA patients, but many current treatment options have limited effectiveness. In addition to chronic pain, people with chronic low back pain experience increased disability, psychological symptoms such as depression, and reduced health-related quality of life. This randomized controlled study will examine the impact of yoga therapy for improving function and decreasing pain in VA patients with chronic low back pain. Although not every VA patient with chronic low back pain will choose to do yoga, it is an inexpensive treatment modality that is increasingly appealing to many VA patients. If yoga is effective, it could become an additional low-cost option that the VA can offer to better serve Veterans with chronic low back pain.
The purpose of this trial is to investigate the immediate effects of neuro-lymphatic treatment, thoracic vertebral and costal articulatory in terms of back pain levels, cervical and dorsal flexibility, sense of body comfort and satisfaction with the treatment received.
This is a phase IV, open-label and single-arm study of patients with non-malignant pain due to osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain and joint/muscle pain, who were not responding to non-opioid analgesics. The primary objective was to assess the efficacy of buprenorphine transdermal patch for pain control among these patients.
Determine the improvement in nonspecific low back pain patients with osteopathic techniques (Body Adjustment Protocol) and know changes in stabilometric measures analyzed with a stabilometric platform (Footscan®).
The purpose of this study is to investigate acute low back pain, its origin, mechanisms, the cause of pain, evaluation of treatments and development. Employees from a large local manufacturing company are sent for a complete orthopedic and pain evaluation immediately after onset of acute low back pain. Thereafter, the included patients are allocated either to the advice to stay as active as possible in spite of the pain or to adjust their activity to the pain. Pain intensity and physical activity are followed prospectively over seven days using a diary and a pedometer.
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the Stimwave Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) System for treatment of chronic pain
Segmental stabilization exercise has been shown to be effective in the rehabilitation of low back pain (LBP). Due to the isometric nature of segmental stabilization exercise, manual therapists use various verbal instructions to elicit lumbar multifidus muscle contraction. The purpose of this study was to assess whether or not three verbal instructions would alter muscle thickness of the lumbar multifidus differently in asymptomatic individuals and patients with LBP. Three verbal instructions were selected for this study: (1) swell the muscle underneath the transducer, (2) draw your belly button in towards your spinal column, and (3) think about tilting your pelvis but without really doing it. Lumbar multifidus muscle thickness was determined using parasagittal ultrasound imaging. Measurements of muscle thickness were collected at rest and during verbal instructions from 21 asymptomatic adults and 21 patients with LBP. Percent changes of muscle thickness during contraction and at rest were compared between groups and across verbal instructions.
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of minimal intervention and therapeutic alliance in pain, specific and general disability, global perceived effect, empathy, credibility and expectation of improvement in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain
