Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a serious public health problem because of its increasing incidence and prevalence in the aging population. ECG is the most commonly used gold standard for clinical diagnosis of arrhythmias, but conventional ECG examinations are not adequate for long-term ECG follow-up measurements in patients with AF. In this study, the AF patients will wear an watch and ECG patch to continuously monitor ECG and PPG. The software uses an integrated diagnostic mechanism of "AF burden + AF segments" to efficiently analyze ECG and PPG data, which can quickly and accurately identify the occurrence of AF and analyze AF burden in real-time, facilitating physicians' diagnosis and treatment and efficacy assessment.

Early Recurrences of Atrial Arrhythmias and Their Impact on Late Recurrence After Pulmonary Vein Isolation With Pulsed Field Ablation of Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation

This is a prospective, single-arm study conducted in University Hospital of Split, Department of Cardiology. Patients treated with PFA for symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation will be asked to participate in the study. An implantable loop recorder (ILR) will be placed immediately after the PFA procedure for rhythm monitoring. Early recurrences will be subsequently divided into very early recurrences (up to 1 month post-procedure) and early recurrences (1-3 months post-procedure). Late recurrences will be defined as those 3 to 12 months post-procedure. Patients will be monitored routinely through follow up visits during which ILR will be interrogated and eventual symptoms will be assessed. Follow-up visits will be scheduled 1, 3, 6, 12 months post-procedure. Median follow-up will be 12 months. Data for the study will be obtained from a loop monitor to assess the arrhythmia burden during follow-up visits in the University Hospital of Split Arrhythmia Clinic.

Myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) (i.e.<50% stenoses) on coronary angiography) is an underappreciated clinical entity concerning 5-6% of patients with acute myocardial infarction. Approximately 50% of these patients remain without appropriate diagnosis and treatment. The MINOCA study aims at systematically assessing the frequency of underlying pathologies of MINOCA and outcomes with a multidisciplinary etiologic work-up and follow-up of 5 years including, for the first time, an implantable cardiac monitor (ICM) to assess the frequency of atrial fibrillation as underlying cause for MINOCA.

The Effect of Intra Operative Dexmedetomidine in Prevention of Early Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation

The incidence of atrial fibrillation (AF) after lung resection varies between 12% and 30% after lobectomy and 23%-67% after pneumonectomy. The average time of onset of AF after lung resection is 2-3 days. AF after pulmonary resection can cause symptoms, hemodynamic instability, and stroke.Furthermore, AF following pulmonary resection may triple the mean duration stay in the intensive care unit and increase the total length of hospital stay by 2-9 days, with an increased in associated hospitalization costs.lastly, AF after lung resection has been associated with an increased risk of mortality , although the arrhythmia is more likely to be a consequence of other associated cardiopulmonary complications, rather than the main cause of death. our study aim to assess the role of intra operative dexmedetomidine in reduction of early postoperative atrial fibrillation in patients undergoing thoracic non cardiac surgeries. Objectives: 1. To evaluate possible efficacy of intraoperative dexmedetomidine in reduction of postoperative atrial fibrillation in patients undergoing thoracic non cardiac surgeries 2.
