Functional Diagnostic Accuracy of Quantitative Flow Ratio in Tandem Lesions and Virtual Stenting

Quantitative Flow Ratio (QFR) is a novel method for evaluating the functional significance of coronary stenosis. Virtual stent implantation technique combined with QFR was recently developed to predict the functional significance of coronary stenosis as if the stenosis was revascularized. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of QFR in in tandem lesions with fractional flow reserve (FFR) as the reference standard. The secondary purpose is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of QFR-based virtual stent technique in predicting the FFR values after revascularizing the culprit lesion.

CADence Performance as a Rule-Out Modality in Long Beach Veterans Administration Heart Catheterization Lab Patients

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and performance of the CADence device by comparing it to the results obtained from standard coronary angiography. The CADence device collects acoustic (sound) data from locations on the chest for the purpose of identifying coronary artery turbulence, which may be indicative of coronary artery disease.

Ischemic Pain Control With Analgesic Methods Clinical Trial

This project is one of four components of a thematic project that aims to evaluate the use of ultrasound in regional blocks, called "Use of ultrasound in regional blocks and injections for the treatment of acute and chronic pain." It will evaluate quantitative and qualitative control of ischemic pain in the lower limbs in patients with peripheral arterial occlusive disease through continuous sciatic nerve block by perineural catheter, popliteal approach, compared to systemic analgesia based on opioids.

Magnesium Oral Supplementation to Reduce Pain Inpatients With Severe Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease

Magnesium exerts analgesic effects in several animal pain models and in patients affected by acute postoperative pain and chronic pain of neuropathic origin. There is no evidence that magnesium can modulate pain in patients with peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD). We describe the protocol of a single-center randomized double-blind clinical trial aimed at assessing the efficacy of oral magnesium supplementation in controlling severe pain in patients with advanced PAOD.
