Mother and Baby Yoga Study - Early Postnatal Yoga and Mental Health

MABY
Start date: August 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Investigating the influence of an early postnatal mother and baby yoga programme on maternal mental health and relationship with baby: a randomised feasibility study. It is thought postnatal mother and baby yoga decreases levels of depression and anxiety and increases subjective experience of maternal-infant bonding. This project will provide the necessary data to determine whether a regular programme would be beneficial to mothers. The research study is an eight-week online programme incorporating gentle postnatal mother and baby yoga involving women 6-12 weeks following birth (at recruitment/study commencement). The outcome measures include mothers' feelings about their mental health and bond with their baby.

NCT ID: NCT06054243 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Efficacy of Group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Youth Anxiety and Insomnia

Start date: February 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Youth is an important transitional stage associated with dynamic changes in biological, cognitive, and psychological functioning, as well as a constellation of developmental and psychosocial challenges. In particular, anxiety disorders constitute the most common mental health problems in youth, with a prevalence rate up to 32%. Youth anxiety is associated with not only profound personal distress, but also considerable impairments in psychosocial functioning and an increased risk for developing other psychiatric comorbidities (e.g. depression, substance use). Meanwhile, sleep problems, particularly insomnia, are also common in the teen years, with a prevalence rate as high as 36%. Insomnia and anxiety are highly comorbid conditions, with increasing evidence suggesting their intricate, bidirectional relationship, such as a high level of anxiety symptoms found in youth with insomnia. However, optimal treatment strategies to manage the comorbidity of these two conditions remain uncertain. This study will test the efficacy of group-based cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and cognitive behavioural therapy for anxiety (CBT-A) in reducing the severity of insomnia and anxiety symptoms in youth with comorbid insomnia and anxiety, as well as their effects on depressive symptoms, daytime functioning (e.g. sleepiness, fatigue), subjective and objective sleep measures.

NCT ID: NCT06046170 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Adaptation and Feasibility of the Community-Based Anxiety Program Tailored for Autism (CAPTA)

Start date: January 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Anxiety is very common in autistic youth. Recently, an intervention has been created by the investigators to target these symptoms in autistic youth in a community setting. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of implementing this treatment in community care centers.

NCT ID: NCT06039228 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

School-based Group Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Adolescents

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the investigators' mental health promotion intervention premised on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework in secondary school settings aims to enhance young people's psychological flexibility and reduce their emotional distress. ACT is an evidence-based approach that encourages individuals to act in alignment with their identified values. The investigator's team will employ an ACT protocol for adolescents developed by Louise Hayes and Joseph Ciarrochi. The study includes a single-group study design. The investigator will compare the pre- and post-intervention data to assess the feasibility and potential effectiveness of the group intervention.

NCT ID: NCT06038318 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Promoting Resilience in Early Survivorship Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

Start date: October 16, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to find the best way to help participants and families manage the stress of facing a serious illness and be better able to "bounce back" or be resilient after a difficult situation. Participants will take part in the "Promoting Resilience in Stress Management" PRISM program, which is designed to provide skills to change or improve the impact of stress in everyday life. The name of the intervention used in this research study is: -PRISM (a mobile app program comprised of 6 sessions of skills-based, manualized resilience education)

NCT ID: NCT06035237 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

The Effect of Cold Spray Applied Before Local Anaesthesia

EffectofCold
Start date: January 3, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Coronary angiography is a reliable and valid method used in the diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Coronary angiography is defined as the process of obtaining cineangiographic images by administering radio-opaque material to the coronary vessels via arterial route. Coronary angiography is frequently performed from brachial, radial and femoral arteries. The aim of coronary angiography is to determine the presence, localisation and extent of cardiovascular lesions. Invasive interventions cause anxiety and pain in the patient, increase the level of anxiety and cause a number of negative effects such as increased use of sedative drugs, development of post-procedure complications, prolongation of the recovery process and hospitalisation time. It is stated that there is a positive relationship between reducing the anxiety of the patients and meeting the needs of the patients.

NCT ID: NCT06035159 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

The Feasibility, Usability and Satisfaction of an Online Tool for Perinatal Mental Health Problems

e-PMG
Start date: July 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

With this study the investigators aim to examine through a mixed method study the feasibility, usability and satisfaction with the developed online tool for perinatal mental health problems. This will be done through a pre- and post measurement of depressive and anxiety symptoms and the use of the tool itself. In addition, a qualitative thematic analysis will be conducted on the clarity, understandability and user-friendliness of the tool.

NCT ID: NCT06030154 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Amplification of Positivity for Alcohol Use

AMP-A
Start date: September 25, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The proposed study consists of two phases. During Phase 1, the investigators will recruit a small sample of participants to complete a psychosocial intervention termed Amplification of Positivity (AMP) for individuals experiencing comorbid depression or anxiety disorders and alcohol use disorder (AMP-A). These participants will be asked to provide both qualitative and quantitative input about the AMP-A intervention. Based on their input and clinician input, the AMP-A manual will be modified for use in Phase 2. The goal is to recruit up to 20 participants in order to ensure there will be at least 8 participants who complete all sessions of AMP-A. Phase 2 is a randomized clinical trial (RCT) protocol in which individuals experiencing comorbid depression or anxiety disorders and alcohol use disorder will be randomized to complete AMP-A or an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention. Up to 100 participants will be recruited in order to reach a target of N=60. Assessed outcomes will include participant acceptability and completion rates, participant compliance with the intervention, positive and negative affect, substance use- and depression and anxiety-related symptom severity, functional disability, and neural reactivity to reward and alcohol cues during functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
