Filter by:The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of a data driven and dynamic systems approach at Danish Vocational schools to promote student health behavior and wellbeing and school organizational readiness.
The aim of this project is to demonstrate the synergistic effect of TRE and NW training on health indicators for older women. The women will be divided into four groups, i.e. Control group (CG); time-restricted eating group (TRG) which will follow 12 weeks of TRE protocol; Nordic walking training group (NWT) which will follow 12 weeks of supervised Nordic walking training and Nordic walking training combined with a time-restricted eating group (NW-TRG). In addition, it is assumed to prove that among young men, TRE will improve adaptation to endurance training and improve the metabolism. The study will be divided into two groups: 1. a group undergoing endurance training and 2. a group combining endurance training with TRE. In all subject's changes in the metabolism of iron, tryptophan, vitamin D and lipids will be evaluated. Endocrine function of skeletal muscles, mental state and cognitive abilities of the subjects will also be examined. The investigators expect that the applied procedure of temporary restriction of food intake will be easy to apply and continue for much longer than the study period. In order to maintain this time window, test subjects will be asked to delay their breakfast and early dinner intake. In addition, it is expected that the improvement in wellbeing, vitality and a significant improvement in performance and biochemical indicators of health, especially in the NWT plus TRE group, will allow to better understand the physiology of exercise, which may result in future specific health recommendations for people of different ages.
This study aims to investigate the effect that increasing levels of self-compassion may have on levels of perceived criticism, self-criticism, and mental health of adults with ADHD. A secondary aim of the study is to capture how feasible using an online self-guided self-compassion practice maybe with people with ADHD. Research Questions 1. Does a short self-guided self-compassion intervention increase levels of state and/or trait self-compassion in adults with ADHD over time? 2. Are changes in state and/or trait self-compassion associated with changes in levels of self-criticism or perceived criticism? 3. Are changes in state and/or trait self-compassion associated with improvements in mental health? 4. Are changes in mental health mediated by changes in self-criticism or perceived criticism?
The ECoWeB Project aims to develop and disseminate a mobile application (App) to provide engaging and personalized tools and psychological skills to promote emotional wellbeing and prevent mental health problems in adolescents and young adults. The project team involves 8 European nations (the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Greece, the Czech Republic, Denmark, and Switzerland) working together in order to improve mental health care and access for adolescents and young adults: - To use technology as a tool to assess and promote emotional well-being. - To deliver empirically supported psychological interventions through a smart phone application to address the needs of adolescents and young adults. - To improve mental well-being and prevent mental health problems in European adolescents and young adults. The ECoWeb project will consist of 2 RCT's within a longitudinal prospective cohort called ECoWeB-PROMOTE (indicating PROMOTION of well-being and good mental health) and ECoWeB-PREVENT (indicating PREVENTION of general distress, poor mental health and emotional disorders) respectively. These trials share the same recruitment procedure, interventions, outcomes (including self-report measures of well-being, anxiety, and depression) and design. Both are interested in the promotion of well-being and the prevention of general poor mental health in young people. The key difference is whether the participants are deemed to be at higher or lower risk criteria for poor mental health based on their general emotional competence skills, i.e., for those at low risk, do the interventions further enhance well-being, for those at higher risk, do the interventions prevent the worsening of poor mental health, general stress and distress, as well as enhancing well-being. In all cases the recruitment procedure will be the same, but the inclusion and exclusion criteria are different and the primary outcome measures are different hence they are 2 trials, rather than one, all running within the same cohort.
