Filter by:Intracavitary brachytherapy for gynaecological cancer currently use cylinder-type applicators or custom wax moulds to place a radioactive source in close proximity to the treatment area and provide highly conformal dose distributions. This study is a Phase IIa non-randomised interventional pilot trial that will investigate the feasibility of successfully treating patients with 3D-printed custom applicators.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the feasibility of applying the SLN mapping technique in combination with FDG-PET/CT imaging in women with vulva cancer tumour size >4 cm, multifocal tumors and local recurrences.
This Phase I clinical trial aims to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) profile and preliminary efficacy of intratumoral injection of Carbon Nanoparticle-Loaded Iron [CNSI-Fe(II)] in patients with advanced solid tumors. The study also aims to observe dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) of CNSI-Fe(II) to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) or the highest injectable dose in humans, providing dosing guidelines for future clinical studies. CNSI-Fe(II) shows promise as an innovative tumor therapeutic agent due to its unique properties of ferroptosis. The study primarily focuses on assessing the potential efficacy of CNSI-Fe(II) in patients with advanced solid tumors, particularly in patients with Kras mutation, e.g., pancreatic cancer patients.
Doctors typically use blue dye to assist in locating and extracting lymph nodes for biopsy. However, this process can prove somewhat challenging for both patients and medical teams due to its need for extensive coordination and the assistance of a nuclear medicine team. Some studies have talked about using a different method to find these lymph nodes using a special dye called Indocyanine Green (ICG). This method involves shining a special camera on the skin. So far, no studies have directly compared the ICG method to the standard blue dye. The ICG camera could make things easier for patients and doctors, and more patients might choose to have their lymph nodes checked with this new method. The goal of our study is to see if using the ICG dye is just as good as the standard method of blue dye.
The implementation of liquid biopsy in clinical practice has been favored by the rapid development of genome sequencing techniques designed to analyze mutations in ctDNA. Among these, the Next generation sequencing (NGS) is a technique that consists in sequencing several genomes in a short time span, collecting information about a wider range of genomic alterations, using small quantities of genetic material. It is used to identify potential circulating dynamic biomarkers of treatment sensitivity or resistance in a real word multi-pathology evaluation. In this way, defining the mutational status of clinical relevance genes in real world, as a predictive biomarker to identify those patients most likely to benefit from target therapy, offers the potential to optimize access to further therapies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the real-world prevalence of clinically useful mutations in patients who are receiving therapy for advanced and locally advanced solid tumor through liquid biopsy.
Rationale: Vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (VSCC) is a rare cancer with a rising incidence. Standard treatment comprises wide local excision of the primary tumour and inguinal lymph nodes and sometimes (chemo) radiotherapy. Treatment is associated with impressive and long-lasting morbidity, sexual and psychological dysfunction and wound healing disorders. Recurrent disease develops in up to 40% of all treated patients. The unmet need, therefore, is a less radical and more effective treatment for VSCC. Hypothesis: Based on the local immune profile in a large fraction of patients with primary VSCC the investigators hypothesize that neoadjuvant PD-1 checkpoint inhibition may reinvigorate tumor-specific T cells resulting in a reduced tumor load, potentially leading to less radical surgery and reduces the recurrence rate. The primary objectives of this trial are to study clinical efficacy and immune activation of neoadjuvant PD-1 blockade in VSCC. Study design: This is a prospective, multicenter phase II non-controlled clinical trial in 40 VSCC patients. Study population: Clinically diagnosed FIGO I-III primary VSCC patients to be treated with surgery with curative intent. Intervention (if applicable): Anti-PD1 antibody pembrolizumab, 200 mg IV Q3W for a total of 2 administrations per patient over a period of 6 weeks prior to surgery. Main study parameters/endpoints: The primary endpoints are: - Clinical efficacy of neoadjuvant PD-1 blockade in VSCC, measured by objective change in tumour size (according to RECIST1.1) - The activation, proliferation and migration of the CD4+CD39+PD-1+ intratumoral T-cell population.
This is a phase II clinical trial to assess the clinical activity of immunotherapy with E7 TCR-T cells for metastatic HPV-associated cancers. HPV-associated cancers in include cervical, throat, penile, vulvar, vaginal, anal, and other cancers. Participants will receive a conditioning regimen, E7 TCR-T cells, and aldesleukin. Clinical response to treatment will be determined.
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the 'Feminine Identity Improvement Program', based on cognitive behavioral and expressive techniques applied to gynecological cancer patients, on prolonged grief reactions and the perception of femininity. The study will be conducted in a randomized controlled and qualitative type with gynecological cancer patients who completed their surgical treatment at least three months ago in the last year at Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University Hospital.
An investigation to investigate the use of diffusing alpha-emitters radiation therapy (DaRT) for the treatment of new and recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of the vulva.
The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of sentinel node biopsy in patients with squamous cell vulvar cancer, currently not regarded suitable for the sentinel node technique, i.e. patients with tumors ≥4cm, multifocal tumors or locally recurrent disease. A positive result of this pilot study might constitute the basis for a future full-scale multinational trial.
