NCT ID: NCT04865432 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Solius UV Light Source in Improving Serum Levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D

Start date: August 24, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a feasibility interventional study seeking to determine the safety and efficacy of the Solius Photobiologic System in increasing the serum levels of 25(OH)D in a vitamin D deficient/insufficient adult population.

NCT ID: NCT04780776 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Evaluating the Effect of Solius UV Light Source in Improving Vitamin D Status

Start date: February 23, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Solius Photobiological System in improving serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in vitamin D deficient/ insufficient adults of various skin types. The invetigators will conduct an double-blinded randomized clinical trial in 100 adults to compare the changes in serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels between subjects who received and do not receive weekly exposures to Ultraviolet B Radiation (UVB) generated by the Solius Photobiological System for 16 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT04735926 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Efficacy and Safety of Calcifediol vs Placebo in Subjects With Vitamin D Deficiency

WORFEROL
Start date: December 23, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomised, double-blind, double-dummy, multicentre, dose-ranging clinical trial in subjects with vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency. Its general objective is to determine the efficacy and safety of different doses of calcifediol soft gelatin capsules (SGCs) compared to placebo.

NCT ID: NCT03660800 Completed - Clinical trials for Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

Pharmacokinetics and Safety Study of CTAP101 Capsules in Japanese and Non-Japanese Healthy Subjects and Non-Japanese Healthy Subjects

Start date: August 20, 2018
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Pharmacokinetics and Safety Study of CTAP101 Capsules in Japanese and non-Japanese Healthy Subjects

NCT ID: NCT03588884 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Insufficiency

Repeated-dose Safety, Efficacy, Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic of CTAP101, Immediate-release Calcifediol, High-dose Cholecalciferol, and Paricalcitol Plus Low-dose Cholecalciferol in Patients With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism, Chronic Kidney Disease 3-4 and Vitamin D Insufficiency

Start date: June 8, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

An Open-Label, Repeated-Dose Safety, Efficacy, Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Study of Oral CTAP101 Capsules, Immediate- Release (IR) Calcifediol, High-Dose Cholecalciferol, and Paricalcitol Plus Low-Dose Cholecalciferol in Patients with Secondary Hyperparathyroidism, Stage 3 or 4 Chronic Kidney Disease and Vitamin D Insufficiency

NCT ID: NCT02856776 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Insufficiency

Gene Expression, Metabolomic, Microbiome, and Calcium Metabolism in Response to Varied Vitamin D Dosages

Start date: December 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

There continues to be debate as to how much vitamin D an adult requires to be vitamin D sufficient. A multitude of association studies have suggested that improving serum 25(OH)D >30 ng/mL may reduce risk of many chronic illnesses and improve immune function. The aim of this study is to define dynamic changes in PTH, broad gene expression in circulating immune cells, metabolomics, and microbiome profile in response to varying doses of vitamin D supplementation.

NCT ID: NCT02187146 Completed - Infertility Clinical Trials

The Effects of Serum Vitamin D and IVF Outcome

VIDIO
Start date: September 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether an association exists between serum vitamin D levels and IVF treatment outcome

NCT ID: NCT02136407 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin-D Insufficiency

Seasonal Variations in Serum 25-hydroxy Vitamin-D Levels in a Swedish Cohort

Start date: October 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study was to study seasonal inter-individual and intra-individual variations in S-25(OH)D and to explore parameters associated with S-25-OHD in healthy Swedish adults.

NCT ID: NCT01596842 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Effect of Omega-3 Fatty Acid on Vitamin D Activation

Start date: May 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Extra-renal sources of 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D can be increased to normal serum 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D levels in chronic kidney disease patients after administration of high dose 25-hydroxyvitamin D. The investigators observed that 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D concentrations were significantly increased after 3 months of omega-3 FA supplementation compared to baseline levels without 25-hydroxyvitamin D administration in dialysis patients. In this study, the investigators hypothesized that omega-3 FA and 25-hydroxyvitamin D supplementations may increase 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D concentrations much more compared to 25-hydroxyvitamin D supplementation only in hemodialysis patients with insufficient or deficient 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels.

NCT ID: NCT01375660 Completed - Clinical trials for Impaired Glucose Tolerance

D Vitamin Intervention in VA

DIVA
Start date: May 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will supplement African American male (AAM) veterans at risk for diabetes and newly diagnosed T2DM with vitamin D (low or higher dose) and evaluate whether vitamin D helps to improve early markers of diabetes. The study will be done at Veteran Administration Medical Center in Chicago.
