NCT ID: NCT05956730 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Low Vision Blindness

Audio-guided Home Physical Activity to Support People With Low Vision: Physical Performance and Quality of Life

Start date: November 4, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the project is to investigate the effectiveness of a home training managed through audio-guides in comparison to a classic supervised training on the physical and psychological parameters of patients with severe low vision. In this study the feasibility and effectiveness of a self-managed physical activity protocol with audio guides on physical performance (strength, mobility and aerobic capacity) will be assessed and compared to the same protocol supervised in a fitness environment. Secondary aims are the effects of the two types of administration of the protocol on quality of life, autonomy and psychological impact on the caregiver.

NCT ID: NCT05917457 Completed - Clinical trials for Children With Low Vision

Investigation of the Effects of Balance Coordination and Strengthening Training on Gait, Mobility and Posture in Children With Low Vision

Start date: November 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this research is to examine and evaluate the effects of balance coordination and strengthening training on gait, mobility and posture in children with low vision The hypotheses of our study: H1: Balance coordination and strengthening training has an effect on gait, mobility and posture in children with low vision. H2: Balance coordination and strengthening training has no effect on gait, mobility and posture in children with low vision.

NCT ID: NCT05904444 Completed - Clinical trials for Macular Degeneration

The Effect of Duration Between Sessions on Microperimetric Biofeedback Training in Patients With Maculopathies

Start date: August 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patients who develop macular diseases have several clinical complications, such as central vision loss, the central scotoma of the visual field, the decrease of reading speed and fixation stability. At present, there is still no satisfactory effect in the prevention and treatment of advanced macular disease. A new rehabitation strategy named microperimetric biofeedback training has been shown to be effective in improving patients' visual appearance, but there is no consensus regarding the optimal methodology and standard of practice. Therefore, we designed a prospective clinical study to verify the effectiveness of MBFT and to determine an optimal plan.

NCT ID: NCT05901350 Completed - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

The Correlation of Reduction of Levodopa and Non-motor Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease After Deep Brain Stimulation

Start date: June 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patients with parkinson disease (PD) usually reduced the dose the levodopa after received deep brain stimulation (DBS). However, studies seldomly mentioned about the influences on non-motors systems after the reduction. Our study focused on the changes after DBS and attribute them to the levodopa variety.

NCT ID: NCT05888441 Recruiting - Low Vision Clinical Trials

Obstacle Negotiation in Older People With and Without Vision Impairment

Start date: April 14, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Falls are common among people with vision impairment and can lead to devastating health consequences. Understanding the functions of vision and how the visual characteristics of obstacles in the walking path impact the gait of people with vision impairment is necessary to create strategies to prevent falls in this population. The purpose of this study is to determine how adults with vision impairment change their gait behavior when stepping over obstacles that vary in height and contrast to the ground. We will then determine the mechanisms of gaze behavior that correlate to the gait behavior.

NCT ID: NCT05865093 Recruiting - Visual Impairment Clinical Trials

Early Visual Functions in Patients at Risk of Developing Cerebral Visual Impairment. A Pilot Study

Start date: July 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of the study is to assess visual function from neonatal age to 36 months of age in infants at risk of visual impairment due to brain lesion or ocular pathology

NCT ID: NCT05863247 Active, not recruiting - Presbyopia Clinical Trials

Ocular Biomarkers for Successful Premium Trifocal Intra-ocular Lenses Implantation

Start date: January 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to identify ocular biomarkers that can predict the success of phacoemulsification with bilateral AT LISA try 839MP (Carl Zeiss Meditec AG) implantation to achieve satisfactory post-post-operativly spectacle-free vision. Social, biometric and patient reported outcomes will be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT05844982 Recruiting - Visual Impairment Clinical Trials

Intravitreal Faricimab Injections or Fluocinolone Acetonide (0.19 mg) Intravitreal Implants vs Observation for Prevention of VA Loss Due to Radiation Retinopathy

AL
Start date: November 21, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This randomized controlled trial will evaluate the effect of intravitreal faricimab or fluocinolone acetonide (FAc) intravitreal implant compared with observation on long-term visual acuity following treatment of choroidal melanoma with iodine-125 plaque brachytherapy.

NCT ID: NCT05835193 Completed - Refractive Errors Clinical Trials
