View clinical trials related to Venous Insufficiency.
Filter by:The purpose of this study is to assess change in patient's symptoms before and after Endovenous Microwave Ablation (EMA) as treatment for varicose veins. At the same time, it is to evaluate the effectiveness of EMA and its treatment outcomes over a period of 1 year.
Classic ballet dance is a demonstration of complex motor skills to be revealed in aesthetic combinations and repetitively, and it demands intensive use of the lower extremities within extreme of range of motion (ROM). Because ballet practice depends on advanced technical skills, it involves intensive physical training and causes an overload on the musculoskeletal system and foot deformities such as pes planus. Plantar venous pump (PVP) is a network of multiple venous vessels located between the muscles of the foot arch. PVP is considered the first step of venous return and discharges into the posterior tibial vein (PTV). PVP is reported to be active during gait while it is inactive in resting position. There are different views on the mechanisms enabling its activation 1-3. The general view is that during the stance phase of the gait, the flattening of the plantar arch with weight transfer causes the veins in this region to narrow and creates a force that pumps the blood up. The aim of this study is the investigation what kind of hemodynamic changes ballet training causes in the lower extremity
In venous ulcer, venous insufficiency is accompanied by lymphatic insufficiency. Manual lymphatic drainage (mld) technique cause to increase contraction rate of lymphatic collector and venous flow. It is known that Manual lymphatic drainage accelerates microcirculation, enabling nutrients and oxygen to reach tissues and at the same time removing residual substances from the tissue. We hypothesis that if we inrease to lypmhatic activity with MLD, we could stimulate healing of ulcer. The aim of this study to investigate the effect of manual lymphatic drainage on venous ulcer healing.
Chronic venous disease (CVD) is widespread in adult subjects of western countries and is responsible of important morbidity and healthcare costs. CVD has never been extensively studied in pediatric population where the early pathophysiological alterations may occur undetected. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of CVD searching also for the early clinical and instrumental signs of this disease.
A feasibility study conducted in patients with incompetent (i.e. refluxing) perforator veins were treated using the Venclose RF Ablation System.
The aim of this study is to report a collaborative, prospective Singaporean experience using the Endovenous Radio Frequency® (EVRF®) from F Care Systems (Belgian) for the treatment of primary great and short saphenous vein reflux.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of non-invasive echotherapy for the treatment of varicose veins, within local population, using the Sonovein® device. The quality of life scores at baseline, 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months will be assessed using the EQ-50D, AVVQ and CIVIQ scores. Patient satisfaction at these time points will also be assessed.
To assess the efficacy of the Venablock©Vein Sealing System (VBVS) for the treatment of lower extremity superficial truncal veins in a real-world clinical setting in a multi-racial Asian population in Singapore.
Validation of a new short Swedish patient reported outcome measure for superficial venous insufficiency. Analysis of its capacity to measure quality of life and its responsiveness to change caused by treatment.
With this prospective controlled trial, we hope to obtain more information about the coexistence between venous insufficiency and nocturia. In our opinion, venous insufficiency (CEAP 2-3a) leads to an increase in fluid accumulation in the lower limbs due to moving around all day. When laying down during nighttime, this fluid is reabsorbed into the systimic fluid pool, leading to an increase in diuresis and thus an increase in nocturnal voiding. Aim of this study is observe difference in nocturnal frequency and urine production before and after surgical treatment of venous insufficiency.
