NCT ID: NCT02975622 Recruiting - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Immediate Complications According to Ultrasound-guided Central Venous Catheters Insertion Site: a Non-inferiority Randomized Clinical Trial

USCATH
Start date: August 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Ultrasound (US)-guided central venous catheterization is now considered standard of care according to recent clinical evidence, at least considering jugular vein approach. Recent trials suggested that even US-guided subclavian approach could be more effective that landmark technique. However, studies comparing both sites employing US are still lacking. We, therefore, designed a non-inferiority randomized controlled trial to compare these sites, both using US guidance, according to immediate complications following central venous catheterization.

NCT ID: NCT02556541 Recruiting - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Ultrasound-guided Peripheral Vascular Access in Children

Start date: September 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this investigation is to conduct a randomized, patient-blinded prospective controlled trial comparing peripheral intravenous cannulation in children done by: 1. Conventional landmark cannulation where the intravenous cannulation is done by direct visual guidance or palpation or a combination thereof. 2. Ultrasound guided cannulation by means of DNTP. The investigators hypothesize that with ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous cannulation the first-attempt success rate will be significantly higher than by the conventional landmark cannulation technique.

NCT ID: NCT02289885 Recruiting - Trauma Clinical Trials

FAST Examination During Emergency Practice

FAST
Start date: November 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study evaluates the knowledge, attitude and practice about Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma among emergency medicine practitioners in Poland.

NCT ID: NCT02288793 Recruiting - Trauma Clinical Trials

Focused Assessment With Sonography in Trauma

FAST
Start date: November 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The study evaluates the knowledge and attitude about Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma examination among medical students and medical staff in Poland.

NCT ID: NCT01282528 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Ultrasonographic Monitoring of Response to Infliximab in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis

ULTRA
Start date: September 2010
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the predictive value of clinical, functional (HAQ), laboratory and US variables in relation to disease activity and radiographic outcome in patients with RA who start treatment with Remicade at 24 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT01143922 Recruiting - Ultrasonography Clinical Trials

Role of Intraoperative Ultrasound in Gastrointestinal (GI) Malignancies

Start date: August 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Currently available investigating modalities like CT scans, MRI etc although have a high accuracy in staging of gastrointestinal(GI) tract malignancies, are not correct in all cases . The aim of this study is to assess the role of intraoperative ultrasound as a modality to increase the staging accuracy of GI tract malignancies

NCT ID: NCT00649337 Recruiting - Breast Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Earlier Breast Cancer Detection Using Automated Whole Breast Ultrasound With Mammography, Including Cost Comparisons

Start date: January 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether addition of automated whole breast ultrasound to the usual screening mammography in a population of asymptomatic women with mammographically dense breasts will result in a significantly greater number of breast cancers discovered than would be found by mammography alone.
